Well, I've been testing it, and it looks like that weirdness I saw went away. Now, it has about .08 vdrop and no vdroop at all, but no increase either. Is this good, or do I want some vdroop?

You enable Speedstep in the BIOS. At least, I do...I have an ASUS P5E. It should be under Advanced>CPU Configuration.

Great! I went into the BIOS, saw the Intel Speedstep Technology, and disabled it. Processor is at 2.4Ghz constant like I want it. Thanks! Sorry, maybe tearing is not the right term. It's not VSync. What I see are lots of jagged, opaque lines streaking from various objects on the screen. Maybe artifacts is what I'm looking for?

I'm running a 3870x2 on Vista 64-bit and I'm having trouble with the Catalyst A.I. option.
