Re: Vdroop pencil mod wierdness
Well, I've been testing it, and it looks like that weirdness I saw went away. Now, it has about .08 vdrop and no vdroop at all, but no increase either. Is this good, or do I want some vdroop?

Vdroop pencil mod wierdness
So, get this. My board had yucky Vdroop, so I decided to do the pencil mod to get rid of it. I shaded the transistor a bit, tried it, and it got rid of a bit of vdroop. I shaded it a lot more, tried it, and it got rid of more. Tried it again, even more shading, covering the entire transistor, and it...

Overclocking Q6600 to 3.6Ghz
So, I bought a heatsink and succesfully booted up my computer with a Q6600 at 3.6Ghz! However, it took some time to get it to boot up, and I'm worried that I might be using too much voltage. I had to set my VCore to 1.525, although it shows up in CPU-Z as 1.488V (Vdroop?), in order to boot up. In Co...

Re: Two different temperture read on two programs
You enable Speedstep in the BIOS. At least, I do...I have an ASUS P5E. It should be under Advanced>CPU Configuration.

Re: Q6600 underclocked when it shouldn't be
Cool, man. I checked out the specs (G.Skill 1066 DDR2 2x2GB) and it said 2.0-2.1V. I've recently overclocked my processor to 3Ghz and I've set my DRAM Voltage to 2.1. However, in my ASUS Suite program, it says that Memory voltage is 2.5ish, which would fry the damn things right away, right? Things s...

Re: Q6600 underclocked when it shouldn't be
Great! I went into the BIOS, saw the Intel Speedstep Technology, and disabled it. Processor is at 2.4Ghz constant like I want it. Thanks! As for the RAM timings...how do I make sure there's enough voltage? Also, is it 2v or 2.2v I should set it to? I'm using 2x2gb sticks, by the way, if that changes...

Q6600 underclocked when it shouldn't be
I have a Q6600 at 2.4Ghz, but as of late I've noticed that it's only being rated at 1.6Mhz. I tried restarting my comp several times, but both AI Suite and CPU-Z tell me the processor is at 1.6Mhz. It wasn't like this before, but I recently installed a 4870x2 graphics card which is a power hog, so I...

Yes, it's always on in any game I play through the application settings. I hate having it off.

Re: Catalyst A.I. problems on HD3870x2
Sorry, maybe tearing is not the right term. It's not VSync. What I see are lots of jagged, opaque lines streaking from various objects on the screen. Maybe artifacts is what I'm looking for?

Catalyst A.I. problems on HD3870x2
I'm running a 3870x2 on Vista 64-bit and I'm having trouble with the Catalyst A.I. option. For just about every game I have except Bioshock, when I have Catalyst A.I. turned on in CCC, the game runs fine except for blatant graphical glitches (significant tearing coming from models and objects). Obvi...
