Many thanks to DL126 for opening the thread and pointing this out- you saved me hours of frustration. Like many of you, I was planning on a fast RAID0 on the SAS controller for the OS (linux only), and a redundant RAID1 or RAID5 for storage on the SATA Intel controller.
