If you went with an 802.11 draft n card you should be fine as its backwards compatible with 802.11 b & g. I'm thinking you could really just get by with an 801.11 g card (better selection & costs less) as I doubt your school has a draft n network yet, but I could be wrong. is there one on n...

Haha sorry guys. I have the Verizon network, which provides in-home ISP as well. (Also have Verizon the cell phone carrier, but that's another subject entirely).

Re: Hi All! First-time building an ultimate gaming pc...
As far as the wireless card goes, just be sure to get one that's compatible with the format of your router (i.e.: 801.11b or 801.11g, 802.11 n draft etc...) I can't really recommend any brand or give advice on the advantages of a PCI vs. USB based adapter. I've always used PCI based cards and have ...

If you're wireless only then yes, you will need one as this board doesn't have an on board wireless chip...

Will that ram run at 1600 without overclocking? I think the EVGA board said 1333 (1600 overclocked). Well, we are pretty much right at your budget. How much would you be willing to spend on the monitor? You could get a 22" monitor for under $200. Or you could get a 22" with 1900x1080 for ...
