Re: Powercolor HD 4650 won't display after drivers installed
Thanks. The only suggestion Powercolor support had was to update the nVidia chipset drivers so I am going to try that since likely there is a new version from a couple years ago when I put this machine together.

Re: Powercolor HD 4650 won't display after drivers installed
I did uninstall the previous nVidia driver and did a driver clean. The board is nVidia based chipsets so worry about that a bit but I have read supposedly OK. The adapter has dual DVI outputs and I have DVI cables attached to dual monitors at their DVI port. The drivers that came with the CD were vi...

Re: Can not use 2008 Server on Intel based desktop Motherboards?
Just to update and close this thread, I am running server 2008 standard with hyper-v enabled just fine on a gigabyte ep45-ud3p board which is a great board with dual bios and a cache of 8 bios settings you can remember.

Powercolor HD 4650 won't display after drivers installed
I installed a Powercolor HD 4650 in my vista 32 system [4G, E6600, no OC] and it worked fine until I installed the drivers. I tried 4 different version of ATI drivers - two sets from ATI, one from the CD that came with the card and one that I downloaded from Powercolor. All exhibited the same sympto...

Re: Can not use 2008 Server on Intel based desktop Motherboards?
As I mentioned, ASUS tech support. Actually it was pre sales support but the guy was pretty knowledgeable in general even if wrong about this. Perhaps the very latest chipsets have this issue? I know there is no intrinsic reason to not run on a desktop mobo but I could think of a few ways to detect ...

What mobos/chipsets are you using? Have you had issues with drivers? Thanks!

Can not use 2008 Server on Intel based desktop Motherboards?
I have been told by ASUS tech support that all the recent Intel and nVidia chipsets will refuse to run a server OS on a desktop motherboard but AMD did not [at least not yet] restrict this. If true, this is really crappy of Intel and I will be finally switching to AMD processors. Can anyone verify t...
