GTX 280, slight hiccups. Would you RMA?

I just received my computer on Monday and put it together. I ran Memtest86+ for 8hours and didn't receive a single error. I also ran Prime95 for 8hours and didn't receive a single error. The only problems I am having so far with my system is whenever I play games. In Fallout 3 I had artifacts after ...

Re: New computer preperation, suggestions?

The new nehalem chips require new motherboards and ddr3 memory which isn't cheap. I'm sure the cost of my build with the new nehalem chips would be a lot higher than what I paid for this current build. I saved a bunch of money with instant savings, rebates, and combo deals that all seemed to expire ...

Re: New computer preperation, suggestions?

I plan to do some slight overclocking, only bringing my Q9550 to something about 3.2ghz or so. Do you guys suggest ensuring stability before OC'ing?

New computer preperation, suggestions?

I am expecting my new computer to arrive tomorrow, with that being said I am trying to get a bunch of programs that would help me diagnose any problems and make sure everything is working just fine. I only know of a few programs I would want to get in advance to help me with that. So far the program...

Re: New Computer purchase, please comment.

Thank you, I think Home premium has everything I would need. I don't think I am going to wait for the i7 to release, currently I have about $222 in instant and rebate savings and most expire on 11/16. Also, after doing a bit of research the i7 will require more expensive components. I used to buy to...

Is there a big difference between the Ultimate and Home versions of Vista? I know XP Pro is alot better than the Home edition.

Re: New Computer purchase, please comment.

I have another thought I would like to run by you guys, and thanks for your input so far. I've been using XP since It's release. I have yet to upgrade to VISTA simply because I havent heard much good about it. However, I do want to utilize more than 3.2GB of RAM and Dirext X 10 is something I would ...

Re: New Computer purchase, please comment.

Nope, its not modular. It does however have a single 12v rail which is something I desire. I did find a modular one but the company who makes it is unknown in my book.

Re: New Computer purchase, please comment.

Hrm.. I guess I will wait until the i7 is released. Look at the price difference and then decide. It may drop the price for the processor I have selected above.

Re: New Computer purchase, please comment.

I dont plan to run 2, 3 or even 4 Video cards, which I hear that it is great at doing.

I havent been able to track down simple and specific information about them, usually a 12 page review that I dont have the time to read and sift through. Im at work right now. Have they announced a price at all?

Not exactly sure, I'm a little hesitant to purchase new technology. I usually wait for 2nd generation.

How much more better could it be?
