GPU Folding Quirk

I've run into a bit of a quirk when OC'ing my GTX 260 to squeeze a few more PPD out of it. Currently I use EVGA's Precision tool to handle monitoring and clock adjustments for the card. I have noticed that sometimes the card drops the clocks down to idle or high idle from what I have them set to. An...

Ah my bad. I just assumed it meant total post count. I sort of have a bad habit of not participating as much as I ought to.

I'm assuming that means did not qualify. Even so, the question still remains.

Re: EVGA Pays its Folders

I can't believe EVGA is doing this to be honest... I mean wtf - not the purpose of F@H. 1) from the looks of this 'deal' it takes a year in order to get your money...so don't get to excited or expect anything in 2009. 2) If you start in April 2009 you might get money in March 2010, but it seems its...

I honestly think you went too easy on them in the review. 450 dollars for that kind of quality deserves a good bashing IMO.

Re: Prospective New Build

That PSU is overkill. You could easily power a power hungry 4870x2 in crossfire using a decent 5-600watt psu. I suggest going with something a bit more modest and use the money saved for whatever tickles your fancy.

Re: Newegg shipping change?

Did anyone besides me notice a shipping change at Newegg? My last 3 orders came in record slow time (roughly twice the Newegg usual). They were originally shipped DHL, but DHL hands the order off to the USPS and the postal carrier has been smashing (forcing) these packages into my mailbox and damag...

Re: PC makes hissing sound under load...

I didn't see any mention of it but I can say from experience that I've seen PSU's make noise when an app is running that causes hard drive activity. The sound is timed perfectly to the seek noises the drive makes. Another thing I've seen is PSU's that make noise when the system is powered off but st...

Re: Which processor for a new HTPC build

AMD 4850 best bang for the buck. Pair it with a 780g motherboard. The folks over at AVS forum speak highly of these cpu's for their HTPC builds. If you want to go with something from Intel an E7200 should be more than sufficient. If you think for whatever reason you might need processing cores the ...

Re: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200S Processor Review

Weren't many of the Core 2's overrated in terms of TDP anyways? I doubt that the stock Q8200 was a true 95W part and this magical 'S' drop it down 30W to 65W. IMO a non-binned Q8200 was probably around 75W or so anyways. However, it is nice to see more options in terms of lowering power/heat requir...

What kind of adjustments does the panel have? Most of the panels out there just seem to be your run of the mill tilt forward/backward. Was looking for something that has a bit of vertical adjustment as well.

I'm not sure why they would consider Asus. Figured they do more business than DFI. At any rate if I had to choose one from the list it would be ECS.

Ah I understand. I wonder if Windows 7 has the same limitations as Vista when it comes to video card drivers.

Re: ATI Primary with Nvidia Physx Secondary?

I have an ATI 4850 running as primary (thanks LR!) and I tried running a 9600 GSO as a secondary card. Now I didn't try to run it as a Physx card, but I never could get it the NVIDIA card to run right. My only goal for running the GSO was to fold with. I never could get it (folding) working and end...
