Re: Video killed the ... overclock?

the wattage and amps on your power supply should be fine for a 5770. The power requirements for that card are pretty low. The recommend PSU for that card is only 450w.

Re: Should i get the hd4850 or hd4890?

Both are good cards but I don't know if that 4850 will feel like that much of an update from a 9800gt. If your case and PSU can handle it I would look for a good deal on a 4890 1gb, esp. if you are going to be gaming at higher resolutions. You can pick up an overclocked HIS 4890 for $160 after MIR h...

Re: Interview: Chris Morley on Maingear's Shift PC

Nice interview. I really like the clean simple look to their new PCs. It looks like they are using the same frame as the Raven 1 with different panels. I liked their honesty and frankness in their responses which felt very real as opposed to corporate robotic drivel. I felt the same way as I read Ch...

Re: Intel Launches TRIM Firmware For 34nm SSDs

I have the 80gb version. I would have to do a quick search again to pull the exact model but it was listed for the firmware update. http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/2246/ssd.jpg I am running Windows 7 Home Premium (upgrade). Basically the update went totally smooth but after reboot Windows crashes...

Re: Intel Launches TRIM Firmware For 34nm SSDs

I went through the update last night. The update itself was easy but it messed up Windows and I had to do a full reinstall. I guess that is what the disclamer is for :?

Re: Processor Help!

In general (based on reviews and personal experience) the i7s are excellent for gaming and typically beat out the high end Phenom II x4s and the high end C2Q processors. There are exceptions that I have seen in benchmarks like Far Cry 2 but I have played FC2 on a i7-870 and it plays great. I think y...

Re: iBuyPower Gamer Paladin System with an Intel Core i7-870 CPU

very nice dude..I am wondering tho...the spec list(when the contest first started) said there was a GTX285 in there...kind of looks like you switched it out? It is a 4890. Nate and I spoke about this and it was a spec mix up. It sounds like Intel has had some headaches with this contest. Intel and ...

Re: iBuyPower Gamer Paladin System with an Intel Core i7-870 CPU

I actually live just north of Houston (Woodlands) but close enough. I live in Houston, you could've had it delivered here and I'd have signed for it. Problem with that would be you'd come to pick it up and I'd already have it plugged in and trying to find it's max OC. That would have saved my some t...
