Onboard Motherboard Firewire Vs PCI Firewire

Hi there, I`ve just bought a P4P800D, and it comes with a Firewire Port onboard. Two months ago I bought the Pinnacle PCI Firewire Card thinking I would eventually need it. Is there any reason/advantage to installing the PCI card when its already on the motherboard? (other than having 3 more ports)....
