Also, if you're overclocking, I'd probably just get a 4300.

If you have a Microcenter near you, you might be able to get the same CPU for $160.

A very good, fairly cheap motherboard is the BIOSTAR TForce965PT. You can get it for about $100.

If you want to play any HD video, you definitely want to get a graphics card. I'd probably go with one of the Nvidia cards.

I use Netbeans for my Java editor, but I have also heard good things about Eclipse. My recommendation would probably be to start out using Netbeans, as it is very straight-forward for a beginner.

Have you tried third party firmwares for your router? There are a couple different options that give quite a bit of customization options over the factory firmware.

LCDs are much easier on my eyes, especially when reading text, so an LCD was worth it just for that fact alone (I don't do a whole lot of gaming). However, if you're very into gaming, you'll probably enjoy a new video card more.

Program for viewing video on a VIVO card

I have tried searching around a little, and I have installed the WDM drivers for my 6600GT VIVO, but I can't seem to find a program to view the video coming into my graphics card through the video-in. Anyone know of a program to do this?

I have the CNPS7000a-Cu and I love it. It keeps the CPU cool at a low fan speed even under a full gaming load. It's very heavy but I've brought this PC to QuakeCon two years in a row now and not had a problem. Whenever I build my next system, definitely a Zalman CPU cooler. Don't know if that helps...

I've heard nothing but good things about that player. However, you can find it a little cheaper if you look around. I think best buy has it for $50 or so.

I had the same problem with my Celeron x64. I've heard of a lot of people having the exact problem as well. I think it's just x64..
