Re: New Computer
at that resolution a 5670 will prolly get ~30fps at max settings(MSAA 8x, ultra, high postprocessing(DX11)) HD 5670 should suffice. Don't plan on cranking up 8X MSAA with extreme settings. If you're at all like me AA doesn't add much to my experience and if I have to lower some details it doesn't b...

Re: New Computer
If you want to save a little money you can get by with 2Gb of ram, i would kind of avoid Gskill ram. My computer with has 2gb Crucial Memory installed and registers 2gb whilst my brother has 2gb Gskill memory but only registers 1.78gb. so thats a little fishy. Also if you are using a 32bit operatin...

Re: New Computer
I would go with this monitor. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009212 22' Acer - for $150 shipped - $10 more than the 19" once you include the shipping.. For gaming I wouldnt want anything smaller than 22" Also your 5750 card you picked out will run your games fine...

Re: New Computer
I agree it would be a better experience. However, there are a couple problems with that. That's $80 more of which I don't really have the money to spend. Plus that would call for a higher video card most likely around a 5770, 5830, 5850 -- $150-$200 range. What does everyone think about the ATI Rade...

New Computer
Hello all. I am selling my computer and monitor to a friend of mine. I am planning on building another gaming rig for myself. I'm going to buy a 19" LED-LCD Asus monitor (1440 x 900). I am wondering what I would need to build to be able to play these titles on 1440 x 900 with Maximum settings, ...

Haven't read them but here are a couple of reviews I googled........ :) http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/motherboards/2009/08/04/gigabyte-ga-ma785gmt-ud2h-review/1 http://www.motherboards.org/reviews/motherboards/1930_1.html Wow. 20% overclocking ability on that IGP sounds like a good deal. I've always heard good things about Gigabyte, the problem with them is, is that they usually don't have onboard video.JMMD wrote:I've had a lot of success with Gigabyte boards lately. The last 3 boards I got were Gigabyte and all performed very well.

Re: Which Company?
Past experiences for myself and a mentor for oc'ing and general stability, would make me shy away from ECS. Then again this goes back a while. My brands of pref are Biostar, Asus, and MSI, but right now I running a BIOSTAR TA790GX XE AM2+/AM3 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Re: Which Company?
The Foxconn is a basic MOBO for the higher price, but it does have the on board graphics if that's what your aiming at to save cost for a good video card later. Most of the time, the Foxconn boards have been very average. I'll pick the ASROCK boards for your price range. There isn't much of a big d...

Re: Which Company?
I don't use the AMD chipset boards myself but if that is what you're after here are arguably the most popular ones. 1. MSI 790FX-GD70 2. GIGABYTE GA-MA790FXT-UD5P 3. ASUS M4A79T Deluxe 4. ASUS Crosshair III Formula I know the Gigabytes in particular are often picked for their success in unlocking d...

Re: Which Company?
I have an Asus. A lot of people will tell you that they have good experiences and bad experiences with each of those motherboard manufacturers. You really need to look at what each board offers based on what you need. I have no need for PCI-e 16x (x4) because I would never have the money to run a q...

Which Company?
Hey all! I'm looking to upgrade my aging socket 939 (as you can see in my signature) sometime soon with: *Athlon II X2 240 *2gb DDR3 1333 (1 stick of RAM) *IGP HD 4200/HD 3300(for the time being) and was wondering which company was better for a motherboard? Here are the motherboards I am looking at ...
