Re: the swine flu is a scam!
The "hysteria" about H1N1, as you put it, has less to do with its lethality and more to do with how easily communicable it is, especially among those who are otherwise in good health. Influenza is very well known for its tendency to mutate, and the fear is that this particularly communicab...

Re: Post Your Rig!
Oh I've got the skills, just not the concern. My case is completely solid--no view inside most of the time. So as long as airflow is adequate and nothing is shorting out, I figure why worry?

Now that's what I'm talkin' about! Do you recall where you got it?JMMD wrote:I got my Samsung for $150 after rebate a while ago so I'm sure it's cheaper now (or replaced by a newer model). It's the Samsung 2232BW (22" 1680x1050 2ms). I love it.

Budget monitor opinions?
I've currently got a slightly aged 19" LG monitor, which is ok but there are a few issues that I have with it. One, it has a TN panel. I know this is going to be hard to escape in the budget segment, especially since I need fast response times, but I can actually see the oscillating checkerboar...

This thread needs a /facepalm.
Know what I really enjoyed about that first video link? Look at the bookshelves behind the guy. It looks "bulked out" with duplicates.

Re: Mobo Install
It's possible that you could see some issues if you have an exotic storage setup, but if you're just using a regular hard drive without any fanciness the stock settings should be fine.

Re: will you call me a poser if i dont OC?
There's no reason to be considered a poser. Heck, I've built dozens of systems and serviced hundreds or maybe thousands, but the rig I have at home is very modest with some seriously aging parts. It's really not much to look at. If any rig could attract that kind of prejudgment, it would be mine. Bu...

Re: Post Your Rig!
Here's my <cough> phat rig. Apologies for the low quality pic but the only camera I have handy is in my phone: Pentium Dual Core E2200, currently mildly overclocked from 2.2 GHz to 2.53 GHz. It goes higher but not with the kind of stability that I prefer. MSI-7236 motherboard w/i945 chipset 3 GB OCZ...
