Re: Sacha Baron Cohen drops Borat and Ali G characters

I never even finished the Borat movie, after watching a lot of it turn out to be fairly weak comedy that relies on shock value. One fine example is he ruined that particular bathing suit for me, those who have seen the movie will know what I mean. I won't really miss either of those characters and s...

Re: Best OS for Gaming

I voted XP Pro 64 bit for the extra memory addressing and a couple of minor quirks. Very little practical difference though between 64 and 32, so I'd take the cheaper. :)

Re: 3850 vs 3870

The price to performance ratio is just about the same. Adding an aftermarket cooler to either one will give you significant overclocks from what I've heard, from people who mostly have been using the Accelero S1 by Artic Cooling. It's more of a question of what you want to spend as the performance s...

Let's hope that a knockout pops up and puts them back where they belong, maybe get some confidence back in their stocks and the like. Perhaps even get rid of some of their debt. ^.^

They also come with that "glaciator" or whatever heatsink that I cannot seem to find any information on. I was looking at stock cards that come with a different heatsink by default and found gigabyte with a zalman and asus with their mystery metal.

Re: NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT Benchmarked

Does anyone know what the price point of this card is expected to be? And the style of that hardspell review was not that helpful at all to me for some reason, something about the long list style with tiny details embedded in pics.

Re: January Forum Drawing - ATI Radeon HD 3870 X2 Video Card!

For such an amazing prize, I have to throw my name into the hat. Time to go earn some posts, thankfully I'm looking to do a couple of upgrades so there is much to talk about anyways. :) The irony being that my first upgrade is going to be a video card, though a card like this is out of my range so I...

Clearly the over current protection never did become active, Normally over-current protection would be activated when output exceed the rail specification by ~1dB. For a typical single rail [email protected] PSU that would be ~45A , unfortunately 20A would already be enough to melt and burn that power cable ...

Since the question was in relation to http://forums.legitreviews.com/viewtopic.php?t=9668 and it was most definatly your fault in this case... Born of it, but more of a seperate philosophical entity. User error is already stated as a given. In hindsight I should of expanded it a bit farther and sta...

Damage and Responsibility

So I decided to make a poll to see what everyone thinks. Assume this: Power supply claims to have have a protection of your choice. You make a stupid mistake and the protection doesn't work, ruining the unit. Your fault for making the mistake, so you keep the unit and buy a new one. or The units fau...

so basically you plugged in the floppy drive incorrectly and fried some things as you were one pin away from where you should have been... basically your grounds were hot and the hot was a ground... Any PSU would do this right? I've never seen this happen before, but when plugging stuff in quickly ...

Then my bad for being too touchy. Forgive me? :P Strangely enough my motherboards reports are fairly accurate, within 0.2 volts of the actual, but that is still way too far off to be trusted. A fried chip is a clear user's problem. They fed a chip that outlined both max temps and max voltage too muc...

These modular cables are cheap and pathetic. Still my fault, but god I loath these cables. Not really, they are of the same quality of all the modular cables on the market Strange thing is, short circuit protection never kicked in. Maybe I didn't give it enough time? Oh well, the hand is faster tha...

how did you short it? EDIT: nvrmind, guess I should look at the pics before posting...I thought you meant it was plugged in the PSU incorrectly...I bet that made a nice smell in your room  To be exact, +12v line met ground line on the Floppy connector. And that smell, that long lasting, fragra...

Corsair HX520W, good power supply, but needs care.

Hello. :) Recently did an upgrade that was nearly a new build, and to feed my E6420 CPU and the like I bought a Corsair HX520X power supply to replace the Antec SmartPower I was using. Good PSU, a little on the low side for some voltages but holds them extremely well. My system only consumes 170 wat...
