Here's another bottlenecking question:
I just read that AGP 8x has a bandwidth of under 3 Gb per second, so I'm wondering what the point is of buying a card that has a significantly higher throughput than that.

It's been pretty good for a while now. When I first started in April, though, they were re-starting it all the time, and I never made it through one of the lowbie dungeons without it crashing. The server had a huge population, apparently it was full from almost day one. I joined, and stuck with it, ...

I've been playing since April and really like it. I'm on the Archimonde server. I think that soloing can get pretty repetitive (probably in any mmorpg, although this is my first, so who knows), but I play a priest, so I'm almost always grouped up. The healer role probably suits me best as far as my ...

ASUS lists the z63a as being a 14" widescreen. Is this correct? I might be able to live with that size.

Yeah, that's a great big bummer! :( I had raced off to place an order, hoping to be the one to write your article. So, after seeing your 2nd post, I called their customer service and got the order cancelled. They were only willing to come down $10 or so on their actual price for the Z71V due to the ...

optical drives for notebooks
Are optical drives and drive bays on notebook chassis fairly standard? If they are not, how do you find out which drives will fit in your chassis? This question occurred to me while reading the How to Build a Sonoma Notebook article, where one of the components listed is the "Z71 chassis" ...

Count me in! I'm not sure if you're looking for a long-standing member or not; I just found this site a few days ago while googling for barebones notebooks. I would be very interested in doing this, if the opportunity is available to newcomers. I've got a decent amount of writing experience from sch...
