Re: Boot issue
I've tried all 4 slots and all work just as long as im only using one stick. Using standard timings and crucial's recommended timings at 7-7-7-24 @1.65v 1333 doesn't work either. Do you have a recommendation for different timings and voltages? Drivers and bios are all up to date.

Boot issue
What would prevent a computer from posting when using two sticks of ram (dual channel), but when you use each stick on its own it runs stable? When using the two sticks, my computer rarely posts and when it does it only runs for about 5 mins before blue screening. I also noticed a red blinking light...

If all else fails then you can try to run your pc outside of the case with minimum hardware and see what happens.

Re: PC Turns on then shuts off
post stands for power on self test. its your computer checking to make sure everything is ok to run, or something like that. it's signified by a single beep noise, if it does anything other then a single beep something is wrong. you can check your psu with a voltmeter or take it to a computer store ...

is this a new computer? does it post? when i was having similar problems, switching memory positions would fix it temporarily.

Re: PC Rebooting
I've had some bad luck on a restarting computer as well, in fact im still figuring out what caused its restarting. some hard drive manufacturers offer some sort of hard drive checking software, you can try them. I contacted asus after i had exhausted most options and they said i should take my mothe...

Well LinX ran smoothly without any errors but i think the other software link is wrong, it isn't called Super Pi its called Sysid and doesn't give me much options for testing just a benchmark option.

Re: more problems...
Several questions... 1) What are the RAM timings and voltage set to in the BIOS? Auto right now, during overclocking tests ram timings/voltages were set to factory recommended 7-7-7-24 1.65v 2) Are you overclocking your CPU? no 3) What are the reported voltages and temperatures, both idle and load? ...

Re: more problems...
I've done all of the above, changing timings or voltages or both will result in an overclock fail after a few hours of stability. bios is at 2102 and has been for a while. Symptoms are as followed. turning on computer getting no post then restarting and getting a post, freezing and sound repeating w...

Re: New Computer
If you want to save a little money you can get by with 2Gb of ram, i would kind of avoid Gskill ram. My computer with has 2gb Crucial Memory installed and registers 2gb whilst my brother has 2gb Gskill memory but only registers 1.78gb. so thats a little fishy. Also if you are using a 32bit operating...
