amd sure is kicking hte 6 core pretty fast. it's a way for them to make news. unfortunately, they can't really compete with intel at the moment becaue not many apps can run that many thraeds.

Re: ASUS True SATA 6gb/s and USB 3.0 technology vs competitors

i am waiting for the true usb 3.0 and sata 3.0 chipset. Current implementation are all based on additonal chip which sometimes can have slightly lower performance. Also, currently there's no major need for either technolgoy.

Re: Please help looking into first amd mobo

If you can wait, I woudl say wait for a bit as AMD is getting ready to release a 890 fx chipset. Although it's not major upgrade, it's nonetheless has a better support for crossfire and brings sata 3 and even usb 3.0 (not sure if it will support it).

probably is not going to be a huge shocker as xfx went with ati card so it loks like they will be more closely in relationship with ati for the time being.

i am quite dissappointed with the heat and the power consumption of the card. It's a great performance card but it's just way too hot and too power hungry.

Re: GeForce GTX 480 gets dismantled in detailed pictures

looks like nvidia spend quite a lot of resource on the cooling. I guess gtx 480 would be quite a hot card. man, just a few hours to go.

honestly, I think all core i7 should be unlocked. for those who paid big bucks for them that's at least what intel can do to give them the best oc potential.

Re: Intel Has Cake At Office Party Today - What CPU??

HEHEHE, whoever made the cake sure spend a lot of time getting transistor and circuit to look quite alike. Very nice looks like Intel spend quite some money to get it. (or could it be a hologram and it's fake:)...

quite amazing to see Intel will come out with unlcoked cpu as they are so firm on no oc for such a long time. It would be interesting to see if this is just a fluke or real or that some limited quantity.

Re: AMD Phenom II X6 Processors in May 2010

AMD is having hard time to catch up with Intel's core i7. 6 cores sure would be nice but if they cannot be able to compete in the single/dual core performance against the core i7/i5, they would have to sell it at significantly lower price which will not be too lucritive for the company. The good new...

Re: Socket 1366 vs. 1156

not is not true about the multip X16 PCIe. The PCIE for the 1156 is built into the processor so if you run multiple GPU, it will default to the two x8 when it's paired with P55 chipset. However, tehre are boards out tehre that has additional chip (NF200) that allows you to have more channel for the ...

usually if it's the same board then you do not have to install any driver. If you stay with the same chipset, then often you don't have to install a lot of the driver adn the system will work. If you change ot a mobo with diff driver, sometimes you can just install the driver ontop of the old one wi...

Re: Supposed Leaked GT300 specs

never fully trust these leaked specs. They can change quite a lot when the product is released. I think NVIDIA sure is watching what AMD has done with the 5870 and has something up in its sleeve to fight it. Howver, can it get enough performance gain to take over the market is another sotry.

Re: WHich is the best accurate program for cpu temps?

realtemp or core temp seem to be the best program.

HOwever, you really can't fully trust these software readings.

If you got intel cpu, i think intel burn in testi s a nice one as well.
