Re: iBUYPOWER Chimera 2 Gaming System with an I7-980X CPU

You're a little late...

Anyway, if anyone still has anything they'd want to see run on this system, I'd be glad to try it out and show the results.

Even for ATMs that belong to the bank that your card is under? I'd never use an ATM ever again.

Looks nice, though almost looks like something a pack of drinks would have as casing. That 8-core CPU sounds delicious.

Cool. I've been considering jumping into OpenCL. I just downloaded the kit. Perhaps I'll teach myself some time.

Re: AMD Releases Catalyst 11.2 Video Card Drivers for Downlo

Downloaded and installed. I'm loving the new options. Finally there is MLAA for HD 5000 series cards. I tried it out and it's decent, but definitely a step down from MSAA in image quality. Still good if I want AA but cannot sacrifice too many frames.

This is how their service should have been in the first place. Having to purchase games that you will not get to keep after you cancel your service is silly.

Drivers are up: http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/downloads.aspx Downloading now. edit: Yeah, it doesn't seem to do much for my HD 5870. The interface is nicer and there may be a slight improvement in performance. By the way, does the HD 5000 series not support MLAA? I cannot find the opt...

Re: texting shopper falls in mall fountain - Now sues

The surveillance video was of too low quality to have actually seen what the person looked like. If she wasn't suing, no one would have known it was her.

Why are there so many members in that group? I don't see the point in having that many dancers/vocalists, especially since the moves are mostly the same and there aren't many voices going at the same time.

Re: AMD Catalyst 11.1a Hot-Fix Drivers Coming Today!

That's pretty cool, though I see that it only deals with the HD 6XXX series. I'm hoping that at least some of these apply to the HD 5XXX series, but it just wasn't mentioned. Interesting bit on tessellation. It should prove useful if applications go crazy with the tessellation and offer no options t...

I'm excited about the AVX instruction set. I'm hoping to see applications make use of it. Perhaps even physics engines being optimized for it.
