Re: PC vs console question
Unfortunately as games get more and more expensive to develop, it's harder for developers to justify developing games for the enthusiast crowd. I'm hoping simplified rendering techniques like raytracing will cut down severely on artist requirements and thus allow cheaper visually stunning games that...

For use in case of zombies or... Nvidia? I'm confused by the writing on the crowbar.

Re: Update on the AMD Catalyst Driver Program
I just hope the HD 5000 series isn't going to follow soon after. I wonder if it's based on DirectX hardware level support. The HD 4000 series is not that old, even though it only supports up to DirectX 10/10.1.

I see numerous controllers coming out for mobile devices. It'd be great if there was some standardization, then I'm sure adoption rates would be even higher. Still, this looks nice. I like how it looks similar to the NES controller.

Well since Nvidia is making the CUDA compiler open source, hopefully we'll see CUDA programs that also work on AMD cards.

Re: AMD Radeon HD 7970 3GB Video Card Review
The greater compute abilities are very exciting. I'm looking forward to all the interesting applications that developers can create with more flexible GPUs. Discrete digital multi-point audio also sounds amazing, though I only use a single monitor. The lack of a backplate has me scratching my head, ...

Re: IBM Reveals Five Innovations That Will Change Our Lives
I'm excited about heat being used as energy. Using biological information for passwords is worrying, though, since it could also be used by the government and corporations to snoop on people. Mind reading sounds half-good, half-bad. It'll be awesome for gaming, but if it leads to the development of ...

Re: Elder Scrolls V Skyrim for PC - XBOX port or legit PC ga
I didn't vote either option. The game is obviously designed with consoles in mind first, but the game is still awesome. Sure, it could use tweaks (especially in the interface) and more advanced graphical features would be nice, but again, it's an awesome game.

Re: Batman: Arkham City Patched for Better DX11
In terms of visual fidelity does it really make much of a difference? I can't see it looking much better than it already does in DX9. There are definitely a number of improvements made, but the improvements are in the smaller details. They're noticeable, but sometimes you need to look out for the i...

When I was married and my ex was working we cleared 70k a year between us. Yeah.. middle of middle class at best, and that is here in the midwest. I know what the OWS started out to do, but what it has morphed into is a bunch of whiners that want stuff handed to them. Several have been video saying...

Carolla's epic rant on OWS... headphones if at work, a little NSFW due to language The only thing "epic" about that video is how much of an "epic" hypocrite Adam Carolla is. The things you were complaining about apply to this guy. Read up his Wikipedia article (http://en.wikiped...

Re: buy GTX 570 now?
The GTX 295 is still an awesome card. I suggest waiting for the high end Kepler since they should provide a major boost in performance. Are there any applications where you have to have more performance right now? My suggestion is not to upgrade unless necessary, otherwise you end up spending a lot ...
