Re: Spigen Tough Armor vs SUPcase Unicorn Beetle Pro
So far I like the UBPro, but I wish it had a kickstand. I don't know which kind to get for it that will not add more bulk to the thickness of the phone. I have the Moto G6.

Re: Network demands for mulitiple streaming devices
One thing I can say, I wish I knew then what I know now. When I built 20 years ago, I had coax cable and phone line wired to bedrooms, living room, kitchen. Still use the coax for cable internet, but the phone lines are useless, only running one line to kitchen now where wireless base is and have ha...

Re: Network demands for mulitiple streaming devices
Yeah I had a feeling that my router even as old as it is should be able to handle what I have going. I was just afraid that the extra demands of streaming TV would put it at the limit. Everybody has a tv going at any given time, while also playing on their phones or game consoles. I myself have the ...

Network demands for mulitiple streaming devices
How do I tell what my network demands are for X amount of streaming devices? I've got the 200mbps Spectrum, and an AC1200 dual band router. When I get the cord cut, I will need to use internet for streaming for at least 4 TVs, 3 phones, an XBox One, an XBox 360, and at least 4 PCs. I assume my Spect...

Re: DELAYING desktop screen after login in Win7x64
Back looking at old threads and thought I'd update this one. Once I was able to "hand me down" some drives, I was able to free up the Kingston that I won from a giveaway right here on this site about 5-7 years ago or more (Thanks again, Nate!). The script command box disappears fairly quickly now, I...

Re: Spigen Tough Armor vs SUPcase Unicorn Beetle Pro
I did get one of both, the Spigen is OK, better protection than the stock included case was but with a 16yo boy I have to sweat it, doesn't take him long to fumble. I got the UBPro for myself, immediately put a tempered glass protector on the phone screen, took out the plastic screen from the case a...

Re: Wireless AC Router suggestions
Update: After a couple of firmware patches for KRACK and SPECTRE the DIR-850L is working much better so I am still using it. My son got an XboxOne so is on Fortnite every minute so I think I may have to rethink a better router for the future. I believe I bettered his lag time by putting it on the 5G...

Re: DNS Servers
They updated my internet and modem 6 months after everyone else, this 3.1 modem is Spectrum branded and doesn't want you to get into it to see stats. I've used the workaround but it is a PIA and not worth the trouble. I'm still using my DLink DIR-850L AC1200 router.

Re: DNS Servers
Sorry, I didn't see this. After experimentation, I found that although I had 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1 set as DNS in my router, it was still showing DNS requests to Charter DNS servers. After going in to network settings for the connection in Windows and manually setting the DNS to 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1, no...

DNS Servers
Hmmm. It has been awhile since Spectrum internet has "filled in" the blanks for DNS Servers in my router. I have manually used Google's (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) when Spectrums went wonky (was still Charter at the time). I switched to Cloudflare's (1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1) and I thought that was done. Howev...

Spigen Tough Armor vs SUPcase Unicorn Beetle Pro
I am upgrading the myself and the kid's tracfones to Moto G6's. I am looking at cases (since they both cracked the screens on their last phones) and I think I have it narrowed down to the Spigen Tough Armor https://www.amazon.com/Spigen-Reinforced-Kickstand-Protection-Technology/dp/B07D2YP2QZ/?tag=a...

Re: APC UPS 600VA BE600M1 Battery Backup & Surge Protector Review
Thanks Bubba for the input, I think you guys are right, this old guy should just be retired--you know me, I try to wring every last bit of usability out of my hardware until it crumbles lol. After finding some forums where people had problems after replacing the battery (possibly due to other factor...

Re: APC UPS 600VA BE600M1 Battery Backup & Surge Protector Review
I have an LS700 410watt/700va/510 joules with the same problem, battery dead. I see replacement batteries online from various sources anywhere from $25-$35. Would you suggest that I just tank this UPC and get a new one? Mine is a bit stronger (also old as dust lol), but this one has a USB port. In y...

Re: Replacing wireless card in C700 laptop
That would be great if you had something that would work. I had put this aside again because I got a little disheartened with it (mem compatibility issues, SSD issues waking up from sleep or hibernate). If you have some wireless n cards you can let me try that would be great. Also, this laptop uses ...

Re: Router to Router
Yeah not looking to do it wireless, it will be connected by ethernet to one of four ports on my AC/N router that runs the network so all I need it to do it take on the wireless traffic from the few G devices that have need of it.

Re: Replacing wireless card in C700 laptop
I am trying to get this laptop working the best so my daughter can take it to school with her, it is smaller than her home laptop and all she really needs is something that she can take notes with and have it easier to look things up in class than a small phone or tablet and can be considered a thro...
