As previously stated, a PCI-E x16 v1.1 will provide more than enough bandwidth. There are even reviews out of people testing the effect of lower speeds on the PCI-E slots, such as a GTX 480 running at x4. The difference between x16 v1.1 and x16 v2.0 is so extremely small it can't really be measured....

Cheap power supplies are cheap and higher wattage because: 1) They use cheap parts. 2) They put more into the aesthetics rather than substance so people will buy them. (Examples: LED fans, acrylic panels, UV cables, etc...) 3) They artificially inflate the non 12V rails to give them the wattage rat...

Update to my situation....I just received the 260..and it is a freaking foot long, twice the size of my current 9500gt, therefore..it doesn't even fit my case! Tip to anyone thinking about upgrading their vid card..make sure it will fit in your case first! It's actually 10.5" long, but yeah, y...

My bet is that you haven't disabled Hyper-Threading. By disabling Hyper-Threading, you'll effectively cool down your i7 920 by ~15C. Saw the same results when disabling Hyper-Threading on an i7 860.
