Re: GPU issues. Help!
The thing I hate about SLI and Crossfire is there has to be a game profile for it to work correctly OMG, I hadn't even thought of that  . I knew that FEAR First Encounter was geared towards ATI cards, and it was passed by me that Clear Sky may have had all kinds of software complications. Bu...

Re: GPU issues. Help!
I think that's pretty much it. Once the drivers were all upgraded, and patches installed, both game ran beautifully. nearly 13GB through STEAM - that a good 1GB update. I still don't understand why Clear Sky isn't running that well. It's improved, but I still can't have enhanced lighting and fog eff...

Re: What's the go with Nvidia merchandise?
your not really being specific for $430, what card is it? This Nvidia card isn't the exact model i was looking at, but it carries the same specs. It varies from $449 to $517 over eight online vendors in Australia. Gigabyte N285UD-1GH - GTX285, 1GB, DDR3, 512bit, PCIE2.0, DSUB, DVI, HDCP, UD, ATX Sp...

What's the go with Nvidia merchandise?
I don’t mean to offend Nvidia fans, and I don’t pretend to completely understand GPUs – But what’s up with the low specs in Nvidia merchandise, especially given their asking prices, $430 for a, IGB, 512 bit, 648Mhz, DDR3? And that’s from a reputable vendor. Who does Nvidia think they are – Mac? Ther...

Re: GPU issues. Help!
Yeah! =D> We did it…! I got FEAR 2 and left-4-dead running like a dream. At 1920 x 1080 the frame rates are perfect, absolutely no aliasing and the effects don’t dampen performance at all. I just wish I understood exactly where the hiccup was. However, Clear Sky is STILL not working properly. Even w...

Re: GPU issues. Help!
OK, I'm back. Bare with me; I've updated the driver for the graphics cards; 57XX series from ATI website and installed the latest patch for STALKER - Clear sky V. 1.5.10. I trialed the game under both single, and dual card. There was little difference. After seeing no improvement, I removed the two ...

Re: GPU issues. Help!
I've accessed the second card stat: Temp - 0 Activity - 0 fan - 20% So it's not being used, at least outside of gaming, which contradicts me about the overheating issue and may indeed be a voltage thing #-o. I had better at least take a meter to the PSU. The fan has obviously made a difference somew...

Re: GPU issues. Help!
It's a GW power supply, '700SEL Supersilent' so yeah, it's actually 700wt. Just how much power does a graphics card consume? Btw, something else I should have mentioned; the computer cuts out even when the graphics cards should be idling. It didn't do anything in the short time I was tampering with ...

GPU issues. Help!
I received my second Vapor-X yesterday. however, After installing the hardware and crossfiring, I came against some issues. Before dealing with fact that my crossfire is being recognized, but not performing to expectations; i first have to deal with a bigger problem: my computer is randomly shutting...

So then, as a matter of good practice, it's a good idea to apply two bridges just to be safe?

temperature guage?
Where can I go in my computer to find temperature readings on my graphics card? The fact that the fan on the upper graphics card lies millimeters off the circuit board on the lower card concerns me. They might be a power efficient Vapor-X, but still...

I've seen various examples of cards using crossfire, so what's the difference in crossfire when applying one bridge or two?

Has anyone played AVP3 yet? Let's hear it. Do they let you play the alien in death match? I hope they've made improvements on AVP2. Turning the alien's pounce maneuver (a swift, tactical jump alternative) into a compulsory power-up attack that obliterates your enemy on impact, all the while retardin...

Vapor-x & ventilation
I have an MSI X58 PRO-E motherboard. Occupying two card slots are two 5770 Vapor-x. Both face their fans down, and the lower most card places the fan less that centimeters from the base of the chassis. Will this arrangement create ventilation issues given the cooling system in the Vapor-x design? Th...

Re: OS & gaming preformance
I was think just that - games down the track would definitely cater to more resource. However - in terms of today's games - given that a 64 bit would consume more resource, or at least take up more space on the the hard drive, a 32 bit might be more appropriate anyway?

OS & gaming preformance
To what extent does an operating system improve gaming performance? I'm told that on a 32 bit OS its pointless having more than 4GB of RAM - apparently you need a 64 bit to allow for up to 8GB of RAM; and yet I'm told that 64 bit doesn't necessarily make gaming more efficient. All the while I'm unde...

Re: I need a legit review
I had a look at the Cyber Snipa Stinger and ergonomically it appears identical to my old Microsoft wireless 5000. I had to ditch the 5000 because it was wireless and no good for gaming, but mainly i ditched it because of the symmetry and narrowing of the mid-body; the mouse moldered like back-to-fro...
