Re: July 2008 Forum Drawing - ATI Radeon HD 4850 Graphics Card
Every assassin needs...a ninja!! Either male or female, but male would be my choice. His name would be Galford and he would have a dog name Pappy (or watever name)..dunno, i like samurai shodown..anyways, he main skill would be to infiltrate, spy, and gather info to aid Ruby on her missions, He woul...

Re: 1999 Gaming Computer Upgade-Part 2
Prices are dropping really fast since newer cpus are about to come out in q4. I say just to get BARELY to 800 range, you'd have to throw in a monitor (22-24in LCD)
and/or
upgrade the cpu to e8xxx series
upgrade to 500gb+ harddrives (maybe 2)

Re: Oil prices blow past $138 a barrel
Southern California now is at 4.29 for regular and that's the cheapest gas station (Chevron) I think arco is a bit cheaper...but its...arco....Sucks but its true, dont think gas will be going down anytime soon, so if it ever hits 6$ a gallon, I'm going to buy a smaller car.

Re: Have you ever Noticed
Ouch, you're pretty much limited since you're in New Zealand. Gotta find vendors that ship internationally (newegg doesnt ship internationally unfortunately) or just get the board with 4 sata and buy a sata pci card for extra devices.

Re: Intel Atom 230 and Atom N270 Processors Announced
I've read the Atom is much slower than the Celeron 420 cpus..it can't do any media / HD content. It'll be good for a server solution I guess. I think the Tegra is focusing more on mobile products for now, but with the new VIA/Nvidia merger, looks like Nvidia will definately plan to get in the x86 ga...

Re: When is AMD going to come around and be back on top?
I think AMD is focusing on their video card for the RV700 series which is said to have outperforms the GT200 series (read on fudzilla), but I think once the Deneb comes rolling out (45nm cpus) then AMD might have a chance to get back into the game. Also they have the Puma for the notebook lineup so ...

Re: I run on a UPS. Do you?
Not at home, APC surge protectors are good enough for me (been using it for a few years now and not a single problem)
At work, of course. We have those mega $$$ UPS (~$3k+) that backups all of our servers

Re: force 32bit driver under 64bit os
Most likely not, unless its the install thats refusing to install. You can try to right click on the installer, properties, compatibility, and choose windows 32-bit. Other than that, you'll probably have to wait til they release a 64-bit one.

Re: Anti-virus Software?
AVG, Antirvir, NOD32
I use those three at work and NOD32 at home. They are all good AV, light, simple, and doesn't slow the system. I have NOD32 at home and game with it all the time...Crysis, COD4, TF2, etc...no problems with it whatsoever. If you dont want to pay, AVG or Antivir is nice.

CPU=E8400

Re: Did Bill Gates Just Say Windows Sucks?
Interesting that he said, Windows VISTA is a bland OS. I had to play it three times to really get his meaning on that one. So if VISTA is bland, what makes the next one better? No wonder more people are looking into other OS's other than Windows or jumping back to XP. The next one, Windo...
