Re: Aerocool touch 1000?
You won't be able to see the fan's RPMs and the fan controller depends on the fan's tachometer wire to set the RPMs therefore it keeps resetting simply because it doesn't "know" what RPMs it's spinning at

Re: CES 2013: OCZ Shows Of Their PCIe Vector SSD
I don't yet know too much about PCIe SSD drives. I hope to see future testing of these drives in the various pcie ports on mobos. For example, will it run faster on pcie 3.0 vs. 2.0? I would think so. Also, I'm one of those folks who would not want to give up a slot on my mobo from my gpu or gpuS i...

Re: AMD Kabini and Temash APUs Shown Off At CES 2013
It sounds like AMD is turning out some exciting APUs and the competition with Intel in this market share is VERY interesting! ;) Not to forget that IMO the most important thing even in ultraportables/laptops is still graphics performance and AMD has just that over Intel all the time even if they ha...

Depends. If it's a few more frames you are definitely hitting a bottleneck but seriously? Few more frames? The performance delta between the 7970 and 7770 IS HUGE.

I would be worried if the HZO coating is actually conformal coating, not a good idea for heat dissipation if it is.

Re: Aerocool touch 1000?
Put it where it's easiest to use. It would be nice if someone made an internal fan controller (say 5 connections and an internal USB header). Then ship software to control the fans exactly. I have a fan controller too and at the same time I hate having to give up a 5.25" bay just to use it. Le...

How much can you afford? Focal speakers and JL subs are great if they are on discount, like my dad's friend did About those flat subwoofers, it's a rule of thumb, a truckload more power (so a coincidental faster battery death) to drive it if you need more "thump" or "boom" in whi...

The question is how big will Win7 be? Very big. At least 20-30GBs gone in my case, if you use ultimate
Win8 is not a exception, it's larger as usual and anyway, Win8 is crap if you haven't used it yet

Well it's been designed in a collaboration with BWM - Not a company that does very well in design, if you watch TG (I don't mean well do i? I mean regularly lack of design updates and possibly sometimes the ugliest cars in the world) And just as a real world test there's a reason i hate metal surfac...

Certainly not going to go green because it costs the same for me as a blue drive and runs at "5400RPM" but i guess longer warranty justifies paying extra

Yuck, white and red. Definitely not the 2 colours you want to mix Firstly most AMD systems come in red and black. So a HEC Cougar has a nice colour scheme, orange and black for AMD Intel systems are mostly very blue so red wouldn't go down and you won't see a red motherboard with white accents becau...

Re: Installed memory 4GB (2GB usable)
Ran into this issue a while ago but it was slightly different than yours, in fact it was a massive BUMMER I had a ASUS EEE netbook and i decided to upgrade the 1GB DDR3 RAM (which actually in fact is DDR2 but in DDR3 socket!, BUMMAH!!!) because that was becoming a huge bottleneck in overall performa...

SSD And a Caviar Drive
So i've seen the Kingston HyperX 3k 120GB SSD and i think i want them as my boot drive as such but then i ran into another problem while deciding what i want for this year's build - Caviar Blue OR Black? I'm going for the 1TB ones as i already have a storage server in the hall I know caviar black wi...

Probably much less, in the order of a few watts as they commonly have no heatsinks and i guarantee you the only sucker is the main ASIC and without heatsinks more than a few watts and they are seriously dying on startupApoptosis wrote:Most of the USB 3.0 cards are PCIe x 1 and they use around 15 Watts of power.

Certainly.
Anyway. SSDs have limited lifespans even with garbage collection so i wouldn't use them as cache drives in any way.

Did you newly update .Net Framework back then? I have this problem on my laptop but after leaving it as it is everything is fine. It was called mscor something something .exe and it had repeating instances, at first hand i ended it as it was chewing up my proc and harddisk on startup then i discover...

I have always loved and wanted a HAF case but the 932 and 922 were just were too huge for me ... although the XB is nice but really ... it's simple but like the rest of the HAFs awesome airflow great serious industrial look Nice case!
