Re: Testing Memory Speeds on AMD's A10-5800K Trinity APU
The non-gaming results are kind of disappointing. Seems like Llano scaled much better than Trinity. Obviously the faster the RAM the better the game performance but holy hell that's a big difference! Keep these kinds of articles/reviews coming. Happy New Year! Which means the Llano relied more heav...

If you're using a APU platform it's worth spending more for 1866 but otherwise it's just wastage

Re: 10 core AMD (?Phenom II)
Doubt it. If it was released it would probably have 150W TDP thermals
But no way it's not like they planned a 5 module version either

35W isn't going to be too big for a passive cooler at 50C
Just thinking if anyone else makes a passive cooler anymore ...

Re: 2012 Budget Mini-ITX Desktop PC System Build Guide
I always laughed whenever i see the tiny cooler ... like i said before when i first installed my E5700 and that cooler (Heatsink had a tight grip) was hitting 87C (way past acceptable) not even on an OS! What kind of **** is that?! at least that was with the LGA775 65W~ CPUs supplied cooler, the LGA...

Re: ASUS F2A85-V Pro AMD FM2 Motherboard Review
Is there any justifications between this board and the Gigabyte F2A85X-UP4? For me it's probably the improved VRM cooling between the FCH and it but to start with the gigabyte has cooler running VRMs so it doesn't need much cooling but certainly if i'm overclocking it to the max i'll have to try sla...

Re: DIY All-in-One
At least if you do buy one (which i have been very very opposed towards) buy Acer because i can really vouch for their reliability even with the A8-3420M I (not exactly me, but someone in my family) had several HPs ("Business" or not) over the course of years and they just suddenly die eve...

Re: Be Quiet! Dark Power Pro 10 650W PSU Review
Looks beautiful but i have to agree on the pricing thing if it was true but i would go for a Corsair HX850 over this PSU or that Antec 650W which is a non-modular (Bitch for cable management)

Re: AMD A10-5800K Trinity Desktop APU Review
It's not totally about shrinking, AMD does have some tablet processors and for christ's sake the Tegra 3 is VERY power hungry if you had one. The One X and One X+ itself is lovely but the proc is not. Tegra 3+ sure improved the benchmark scores but it's still power hungry at 40nm.

Re: Two Budget Choices, Help Me Decide!
Good that you avoided the Belkins.
They usually rebadge stuff and claim it to be superior to the rebadged items and charge a lot more
I had attended a "training" on belkins marketing department and the marketing blurb they do is just through the roof

I have loved the features and pricing of Gigabyte but I have lost belief in the product quality. I had two mobo die on me of Gigabyte within a short time and my nieces husband has gone through two himself. They just don't seem to have good reliability if your buying for short term and plan to updat...

Re: Intel NUC DC3217BY Review w/ Windows 8
USB 2 instead of USB 3 might sound like okay but the issue with USB 2 was latency due to being half-duplex, i can have fast harddisks but if i'm transferring small but very scattered files like an game that uses uncompressed files you can watch in agony as your transfer drop to 100kbps  I ...

Re: Intel NUC DC3217BY Review w/ Windows 8
I think what they want to do is to fill in the niche slot for mini computing aka Mac Mini! Sadly they should have made it slightly bigger and fit in a normal harddisk and that will really bring prices down, it's not like you'd want a SSD with a ULV processor anyway In terms of thermal performance i ...

If only they would optimize the amount of space they have on the HD7900 and use the same fan arrangement ... though the several amps impeller fan is quite powerful but it's loud as hell
