Re: Windows Crashing a lot

Ok so Memtest 86+ threw me two errors so apparently the memory went bad. it had 2gb of dual channel that never showed any problems at all during the first 5 months of operation. Odd that it would just go bad overnight, usually I just have memory problems right off the bat. Guess the next step is to ...

Re: Windows Crashing a lot

Well the Chkdsk found no errors to repair and the memtest will have to wait until monday. This is the second time I've seen it recently, but the first time it didn't fix itself. To be Continued...

Re: Windows Crashing a lot

Alright, In the middle of check disk /f/r so we can get a full scan and repair of files, and then if that doesn't fix it, i'll pop in a memtest 86disk if I can find one or i'll download one. those were what I was thinking, but wanted to know if you've seen it before.

Windows Crashing a lot

Ok, This computer has been running great for a while. All of the sudden today it started crashing a lot apparently. I booted it up and it had bunch of sytem errors. I checked msconfig for what processes were starting I could turn off and saw a dump reg -k some sort of memory dump or registry dump. S...

Re: WD TV HD Media Player

Don't have one, but if you have an LCD TV with a USB input on it you don't need the box you can just plug the harddrive into it and play them off of it. Just a thought if you do, if that's all you are using it for.

Re: Albatron Announces The KI780G Mini-ITX Motherboard

why does it matter if it has an 8x or a 16x? don't 8x work in the 16x slots? just at half the full? or is there another type of pci-e port other than x1, x4 and x16? (my reference to 8x being when you have mulitple gpu's they run at 8 or used to at least).

Re: Can Installing New Codecs or Something else Kill DVD Drive?

so last time I got it to boot and it did so I did the system restore and it didn't work.
then I decided to let it boot completely to see if it was just tricking me. Then I realized it wasn't really booting anymore.
so the drive is dead. Dell is replacing it. Thanks all.

Re: Can Installing New Codecs or Something else Kill DVD Drive?

Let me clarify. I just reformatted it from vista basic to Windows XP Pro using that drive. I installed all of those programs mentioned using disks in that drive. It was working up until that point. We have a site license for windows XP Pro.

Can Installing New Codecs or Something else Kill DVD Drive?

The Title Didn't Give me enough space to type the full question. Here is the information around what I'm seeing. I just got a new computer from dell. Vostro 200 Mini Tower. It comes with a DVD-RW drive. I just installed the software that came with a samsung digital camera. After Installing The codec...

Re: Has anyone used Opera?

I've used it, I liked it a lot, but there were a couple things that annoyed me. Most of them were probably fixable by changing settings. Instead of a homepage it was opening previously viewed pages when I last closed it. The interface was great I thought and it was very compatible. I still prefer Fi...

Re: Tagan Aplus CS Monolize Full Tower Case Review

Wow ironic timing for this review. my friends mobo died we got him a new case. we got this case. It was really easy to build in. Wasn't the easiest I've ever had but I do love how much room you get in full towers. Also those two 250mm fans are awesome.

Re: Antec Introduces Super-Premium Line of Power Supplies

I'd love to see a review of this thing. It looks simple and great, and not like they are trying to just throw raw wattage at you. It seems a little expensive, but who knows maybe it's the best thing out there now. Just want to see some numbers and performance charts on this beast.

Did you guys ever stop to think there is a good reason for this?

Maybe the guy really just wants the feeling of a good climate controlled drive in movie?

Ok but seriously I would use it like a drive in movie if it was there. However, I'd never put it there in the first place.

Re: AMD Announces New ATI All-in-Wonder HD Tuner Card

Sweet, it's been a while since they have had one of the TUNER cards out. Question though. How will you run the signal in and out of the computer with just one hdmi slot? Lets say you want to watch the tv on your large LCD TV while recording it. Don't you need hdmi to go from the Satellite or Cable R...

Re: mother board with or without integrated video

Lets just say it's only a problem if you have a lot of cords. Especially if you are using a lot of IDE things. If you only have 1 hard drive and maybe two Opticals, and nothing else really it just gives you more room to work with in the case but a smaller motherboard. The full one would work, I just...

Re: mother board with or without integrated video

first of all get a board that has integrated graphics like a 780g board that supports hybrid crossfire then get a hd3000 series card not a 2000 series for the same price. then you can get the most performance for your money. Get a HD3450 or an HD3650. the HD2400 Pro is not a worthwhile investment fo...
