Re: What is worse inflation for deflation?

Deflation usually is worse, I believe (someone should go get some facts.) on the other buried topic you mentioned. How about cutting a few departments. Do we need homeland security? we have the DOD it worked fine on its own for years. I've always liked the idea of grant reform too. Give incentive to...

Haha, my post is way outdated. Probably time it gets un-stickied. That or updated by someone information not 3+ years old.

Re: Handbrake Encoding Artifacts

I may need to make a new thread, but an Update: VLC plays the files fine. WMP with an 8600gts and FX-60 Plays it fine with CCCP codec pack and same with WMC. My main rig with the x1800 plays it fine. With the 8800gts it no longer does. I think it has something to do with drivers and directx video ac...

Re: Handbrake Encoding Artifacts

Apop you are right, in at least that is is the graphics card or related to it. If the memory on the card was bad wouldn't I see artifacts in all things? It is only MP4 video I have issue with. I can watch avi/mkv/divx/wmv/anything not encoded with h.264/x264. Is it a driver issue or some other issue...

Re: Handbrake Encoding Artifacts

Friend gave it to me for free because he got a GTX 260 (well 2 of them). But why would it just be the mp4 files and not the VideoTS folders that work? Also games look fine and have no artifacts. Just seems odd.

Handbrake Encoding Artifacts

I recently put an 8800gts in my system in place of my old x1800xt. I'm using what I believe is the newest handbrake edition (0.9.4). I have been getting artifacts on my Q6600/4GB DDR2 - 800/8800gts. I don't get them with my 8600gts/FX-60/2GB DDR 400 (same version I think, though it might be older, I...

Fantasy Baseball Anyone?

I was wondering if anyone wanted to do a league here, preferably with very little team changing after the draft, I just want to play around and not so much want to be spending large amounts of time making changes over and over. If people do want more trades and such, then I at least shouldn't' be in...

I still see absolutely no market for this product. I'm glad some people enjoy it I guess. I think I'd be like "oh cool" then after an hour I'd be over it.

I really like my Cooler Master Storm Scout, I think it is like 79.99 with free shipping after rebate on newegg, and if you buy it through the LR shopping even better for both ;).

One Small Problem with windows 7

You cannot create a toolbar by dragging a folder to the side or top of your desktop and have it be it's own toolbar separate from the task-bar. In XP and Vista you could do this. Why remove the option. Some people used a my computer toolbar. I liked to create a folder for all the game shortcuts and ...

Re: Sound Card issues

So just to let everyone know I am a moron. I assumed that the normal light green was the correct sound one, though I did try 4 others, but I didn't try the forest green looking one which is on the farthest end. It just so happened to be the correct sound port (Let Laughter Ensue). Also, cameroguy yo...

Re: CPU Coolers and Mounting Brackets

that cooler can usually handle processors with no fan as long as they aren't overclocked. Also I plan on putting a high flow rate coolermaster red led fan in it. It also practically touching a 140mm fan on top and a 120mm fan out the back since the cooler is so big.

Re: CPU Coolers and Mounting Brackets

Update, I found some generic "utility comp springs" at a local hardware store a they are 1/4x1/2x.035 (I think this is the wire diameter). They were a little too long and not quite as much in stiffness, but I cut them to just a little longer than the stock springs and used them. It took some screwin...

Re: Cooler Master Storm Series Scout Gaming Chassis

So I just bought one of these a little while back, I love the look of it, but I was wondering if anyone was using it currently as their case, and if so if I could see more pictures of the cable management with parts in it. (I know this was almost a year ago when written) I got almost everything in t...

Re: CPU Coolers and Mounting Brackets

I found my base plate for the Zalman CNPS 9700 for 775 motherboards, I have tested whether the screws will work in the holes and they do, now I just need to find two springs or some other method to space them off and then I can finish building up this computer. :). Oh and for those of you who ask, I...
