I've never felt the need to lap a stock CPU. The hardcore modders and overclockers have results to show that it does inprove temperatures, but again, not worth the risk IMO. I'm not an overclocker though. I don't need to push that last 5% of performance out of my parts to sacrifice its logevity and ...

Well, games are the reason I own a computer, but I still use it for more practical things. I sit at one all day (thus the trolling here and other forums all day), so I've learned to do a few more things with them than just games. I mostly play Blizzard games and right now I'm enthralled with World o...

are the video card drivers - the yellow cd ? Even if the chassis was shipped with video drivers, be sure to visit the manufacturer's website for the most recent. More than likely the drivers included in the shipped software is out of date. This applies for 99% of all video cards from my experiences.

I have a question !!! I just ordered an SATA II drive, but my motherboard says it support SATA I. So does this mean that I'm only gunna get SATA I speeds? Backwards compatibility at least??? :) At least you don't have to buy a completely separate HDD. Sorry, just trying to create a positive out of ...

Was it that much prettier/faster? The differences from the GeForce 6 series and the 7 are mostly shaders. (Mostly shadows, reflections and lighting) However, most games that will be supporting these features are still in development and won't hit shelves till most likely next holiday season. It see...

My big concern is, by going with the big screen, will the 7800 still be able to drive things like WoW, Doom3, et al. at a very high frame rate? As I have never had my hands on a laptop with that sort of graphics card (or screen for that matter) and so am sort of twitchy about buying into it 'sight ...

Here's a site carrying the barebones M570A that was displayed in an Oct 29th thread and given away at BlizzCon (I was there, it's a screaming machine) It's got nearly everything you've listed above and on the site you can choose to have them build it or you can purchase your parts and DiY if you cho...

I'm an AMD guy myself. I've built only AMD desktops for others over the last 5 years and don't have plans to change that at all. I've surfed the web till my eyelids were held open with toothpicks and the only information I'll share with you is this: AMD plans to announce in the near future that they...

Hmmm, the site has gone back to what it was before the change now. They do have some of the new model numbers but the site layout is back to it's original form. That I am glad for. Sorry, must've been a test site gone live either by accident or just a short time. I'm glad it's back! Did anyone else ...

It seems to me that ASUS has re-evaluated their ENTIRE product line. Their site is different than it was yesterday and all the model numbers have changed! Ahhhhh! I was just getting ready to order my parts! Now I have to research all over again. :'( After just a quick glance at their new product lin...

Can we purchase this part separately? I'm interested in the 259EN3 Uniwill Chassis and it supports SATA. I don't know whether the notebook includes an adapter similar to this or not. I'd prefer the SATA drive due to speed and energy efficiency over the PATA. I don't know that it will make THAT much ...

I've just been introduced the the Uniwill 259EN3 chassis that includes dual video support that will help with my battery life. I haven't yet heard what the avg battery life is on that, but I'd expect it to be in the 3-4 range because it's a Pentium M board with a 6 cell lithium ion battery. If anyon...

I think this is the chassis that I'm going to go with. I like the idea of having dual video cards for work/gaming to preserve battery life. As far as prices go, you really cannot and will not find a chassis for this low of a price (Thanks Ogre for the links). I'm constucting the following Whitebook ...

I get ~9hrs with my second battery on my Z63A, and i use it. Some days im in classes from 8am untill 9:30pm O.O So I can assume that you get half that with your first battery alone? I do like the option of a second battery, but do you use your machine for gaming at all? I'm most interested in the g...

If you're going to pay the premium for mobility, make sure you can go as long as possible without having to be plugged in. Point taken. Thank you! I've also heard that you can store a second battery in some chassis. I've considered that an option for either, but your point still remains 12 hours of...
