Re: Network demands for mulitiple streaming devices

Yes, I have zero confidence in the reliability of wifi. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it works today, and not tomorrow. There is no true substitution for wires when it comes to reliability. JMO Not worth a lot. :) YES YES YES - THANK YOU!!!! For years I keep saying wifi is NOT...

Re: Network demands for mulitiple streaming devices

I just re-read the post and saw you plan on streaming 4 tv's. In that case you maybe pushing 200mbps. A friend of mine in Denmark has 250mbps down and 250mbps up and with 2 pc's, 2 tv's, 2 phones and a tablet. He hits 30% saturation of his total bandwidth with both tv's streaming 1080p content. so ...

Re: Network demands for mulitiple streaming devices

I always thought QOS was a best guestimate type of solution where they router tries to decide what traffic is more important by the use or weakness of what is coming through. I would guess it would prioritize your sons because he is using the most. AC1200 should handle close to a gig of traffic a th...

Re: DNS Servers

I don't trust anything to be 100% secure and safe on the internet so I would say both are equal. I am surprised you can hide from all their servers since they are providing the internet service. Your modem still have to send info to them to make sure you are a paying customer and such so they can pr...

Is mining on a single RX580 worth it?

Was thinking about trying just for the hell of it since my computer is not getting a whole lot of use because of taking care of my father in law but I was reading it would get a bit above a dollar a day profit.... Seems awful low. Figure if I can make enough to buy another card then I can have 2 car...

Lot of coin but if it durable and comfortable it could be worth it. i wish at this price it would come with a mount to hold a steering wheel!!! Never understood why they dont build something into the armrests that would allow a mount for the steering wheel and maybe a bar attached to the bottom of t...

its sad, not many are buying them. Less people buying, less volume, price goes up. Bingo. People just do not have the brain capacity to understand a physical disc will give you better quality EVERY time. They want convenience and simplicity so cloud service is great for the non videophiles. I will ...

Also for the 570 and 580 you can pick 2 of the 3 games for free. Seems nice! I actually have a 580 on order from black friday but might cancel it as I hate to keep it on the credit card for a few months. Dunno, might hang on to it since it was $210 - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XZQMMHJ/ - w...

Re: How to access my localhost from another PC in LAN?

I do not understand what you want to do. Even without internet, as long as you are connected to your network you will have an IP address. You can set up windows shares for folders/etc using the local ip address. (normally something like 192.168.0.XXX) If you want to remote into the computer you coul...
