Well, Conroe is pretty amazing, at the time of its launch I'm sure it will be the best CPU around. Plus the only thing (that I'm aware of) that AMD is launching to counter Conroe is the new Turion, which is a mobile CPU anyway. If I was building a system, I'd go with Conroe, but you got to remember ...

I did that to my HDTV a few times too, but switched back to my pc monitor since the image is still sharper there, plus my HDTV only supports 1024x768 and I can't work on anything less than 1280x1024.

DIVX installs video codecs, might also install audio codecs, I'm not sure. Look for anything suspicous in Add/Remove Software. As for codecs, I recommend downloading Defiler Pak, it has all the codecs you need and they work well for me. Also, WinAmp doesn't install anything that could ruin your audi...

bios can be entered before the pc boots up (usually right after the logo), it should say something like "Press F1 to enter setup", if it doesn't some common key combos to try to enter bios are F1, F2, Del, Esc, or Ctrl+Alt+(one of previously mentioned keys). Once in bios, you can see what manufactur...

Well, beeps at boot up are usually an indicator of a hardware problem in your pc. I believe the beep codes are different depending on your bios.

Sounds like a fan airflow benchmark waiting to happen. I was actually wondering which is better myself too, in my case I have 2 fans taking air in and 2 taking it out, and find my temperatures to be pretty well distributed.

Memberless logins

Was browsing through the web and came upon this: http://www.bugmenot.com It's a nice website that has a bunch of logins and passwords for many online websites. This is useful for those who want to download a file from some place without having to sign up for a bunch of spam or waiting for a week to ...

Nice, while some have trouble fitting 1 graphics card in a laptop, nvidia put 2 in. I'd prefer a unified implementation of replacable laptop graphics cards instead. I remember someone (might be Alienware) was working on it, but if every compnay has its own standard, then it's pointless. 2 GPUs must ...

doesn't SiSoft Sandra tell you if your CPU is upgradable? I think it does, that's how I found out that my Dell Latitude C640 with 1.7 GHz can support up to 2.4 GHz

I ordered some generic tuner from New Egg last year, but they mistakenly sent me that Hauppage PVR150 instead. I complained and sent it back to get the one I originally ordered. But then I looked on their site and realized that the one they sent me originally (Hauppage) is actually much better. Now ...

I saw scary movie 3, some parts were funny but overall it seemed kinda dumb. This trailer seems pretty fun tho, maybe I'll watch 4, besides it seems to make fun of current events as opposed to other movies like it did before.

Yup, I did it today, no effect. The thing is, I remember there was that menu window next to the manager window with a bunch of choices in it. And coolbits added more choices. But with latest drivers, I don't see that menu anymore.

NVIDIA tools got crippled?

Guys am I being retarded and cant find the freaking download button (http://www.nvidia.com/object/windowsxp2000_detonator.html) or did NVIDIA cripple or remove the ForceWare utility from their site? I remember years ago, when I got my rig, I got myself coolbits and was able to overclock my graphics ...

And what's even worse than that, is that mailman screwed you for $75 throughout the thread... Anyway, another disadvantage of SLi is that your PC splits the graphics load on two cards and one draws part of the screen while the other draws the other part. As a result, if the graphics load is split un...

If you're like me, then you probably hate all the crap that Windows decides you need to achieve the best performance on your computer. I'm talking about all those programs that get instaleld with a fresh copy of Windows and just hog your disc space and resources. Well, my friend showed me this neat ...
