Re: Netbook Sales Rise, but will that hurt the Overall PC Market

I know at Radioshack we have the Acer Aspire ONE with an AT&T aircard builtin for $99 w. a 2year contract or $500 otherwise and we haven't sold a single one since we got them in at the beginning of December. I don't think they pose a huge threat because most people realize they need something more b...

My wife got pretty pissed I was on all day yesterday. :axe: She doesn't understand how great this game is and that I must kill the infected. Besides I don't get mad when she reads all the time. Was good fun playing with you :) Ditto. You nephew (?) is quite the little zombie killer  I stil...

Re: folding on a 4870

It's too bad ATI folding has been put to shame by nVidia. I'd love to upgrade to one of the ATI cards, but I don't get to do much gaming anymore so my graphics card is about 95% folding and 5% gaming and I don't want to sacrifice my ppd just for a mild increase in FPS. Anyone know if this is someth...

I've messed with it in the past, it's basically just a suite of internet apps rolled into one. Still like Firefox more though.

Re: Have a Safe and Happy Holidays

Didn't think it warranted a new thread but just wanted to remind everyone to be safe out there, I know that those of use in Ohio (FZ1, vicaphit and myself) got hit pretty hard overnight and the forecast says it will only get worse. IDK how hard STL got hit (or anywhere else for that matter) just wan...

Re: RAM Whoop!

TBH it's something to just try both ways to see which way feels faster to you. It depends a lot on the programs you use frequently, most programs (including most games) never come close to using 2Gb of RAM so it would be smarter to stick with the PC6400 RAM only. Then again, if you use programs that...

where you guys playing? the LR server has been full since 6pm and I don't know who is who, so I'm not kicking anyone to get in. When you start a server, set it to private first. Then you can pull up the steam buddy list and expand the legit reviews tag and just invite everyone that's online in that...

BL's cancel was a big mistake by ABC! :axe:
From what I heard, Shatner wasn't coming back for the next season...still, I would have enjoyed it almost as much without him tbh. That was a great show!

If you want a guarantee that a cpu will hit a certain frequency, buy one rated for that frequency. Short of that, it's a crap shoot.

I never got into this show, it's like a soap opera meets a reality TV show...not my style I guess.

If you need something like Quickbooks that can do invoices and such, check out gnucash ...I use it for my personal finances and it is beyond wonderful. It's also designed for small business use as well which sounds like exactly what you need. GnuCash Business How To Guide On the other hand, if that'...

Did you test the movie files on another computer/OS? I've been hearing some really scary things about the DRM they'll be using in 7 and was wonder if it's been implemented in the beta yet...other than that, congrats on building and keeping (so far at least) your latest computer. :drinkers:

Re: another linux question

Which distro are you running? and which program are you trying to install? If it's a DEB based distro you technically can install a RPM but its not suggested. The best way to install most programs though is through the package manager which will handle all dependencies for you.

Re: Free burning software for Vista

ffmpeg is just about the most powerful piece of video conversion software known to man (well, this man at least) but it is a command line tool and thus not very user friendly. There are a few guis for it but I've always just used the cli. If you'd rather have a gui these two seem promising: avanti ...
