Re: Wireless Network Transfer Speed Question

So basically what you are saying is get a PCI/PCIe network adapter? Not necessarily but I would try a different adapter on that computer as a test to rule out the adapter and driver. Could be the Windows network configuration, interference (try switching channels), the router (I know not much help).

Re: Wireless Network Transfer Speed Question

The wireless adapter wasn't that big of a deal with my old Wireless G router. Now that I'm using roughly half of the USB 2.0 bandwidth it seems to have issues. I agree that there is an inordinate amount of packet loss going on. Several times transferring a file to one of my other computers the tran...

Re: iPad vs. Netbook

A couple of friends of mine have iPads and they are kinda' neat but I wouldn't buy one for my use. IMHO they are overpriced and underpowered. If they had a bit more speed and ran OSX versus iOS at a comparable price then it would be a better sell, for my use that is. As it stands I can do just about...

Re: Wireless Network Transfer Speed Question

I have a Belkin Surf (N 300) wireless router and the rest of my non-LAN computers are plugged in with wireless N adapters. The computer I use the most, besides my main machine, has a Linksys WUSB300N adapter . Typically when the internet and network connections are idle it hovers in the 145Mbps-175...

I haven't had a lot of time to play with many apps, and still getting used to the overall layout of the OS... I came from an old Blackberry Curve 8330. Love 3G. ;) No apps, that's why you're battery life is so good ](*,) I ate a full charge down to 40% in a few hours but I was connecting Wi-Fi, dow...

Re: Droid X On The Way!

Actually like my Storm 1 a lot, it was between the Storm 2 and the Droid X for the upgrade. The screen and Android sold me. I don't get the "click" feel I get with the Storm but I like the screen on the DX. I'll post up my first impressions when FedEx makes me all warm and fuzzy inside :) OK that wa...

Droid X On The Way!

I did a search of the forums for Droid X with mostly press releases or news from the web hits. Can't believe I'm the only forum member who has ordered the Droid X (I HATE, HATE, HATE backorders <Rabbit takes a deep, calming breath ](*,) >) I am a long time BB Storm user and actually like it. I tried...

Re: How to connecting a PS2 & Xbox to a PC Monitor?

You could use the component cable for the PS2 and get the VGA cale for the XBox The PC Monitor only haves one set of Component inputs as well as one set of VGA, DVi and HDMi inputs. I get video by connecting the PS2 using the component cables, but there's no way for me to get audio with that setup ...

Re: How to connecting a PS2 & Xbox to a PC Monitor?

You could use the component cable for the PS2 and get the DVI or VGA cable for the XBox

You'll also need speakers. An audio switch box is pretty cheap

Re: Boot Agent Problem

Ok so I tried replugging in my hard drive again and it still will not boot. So this means its proboably a faulty hard drive? Is there anything I can do to fix this without having to spend money? 1) Yes 2) Chances are, no (unless you can find someone to give you a free hard drive that works :) ). Wh...

Another option might be to get a Displayport to DVI adapter and just use the 5770.

Re: Manufacturer of choice?

CPU- Intel (i7) Had AMD and they aren't bad but Intel is a couple of steps ahead in today's market. 6 cores is cool but I have yet to find a mainstream app that uses the 4 on my i7 920. Motherboard- Gigabyte all the way (Intel as a second, I want stability above extreme overclocking). RAM- Had probl...

I am looking at this Gateway computer @ http://www.gateway.com/systems/product/529668613.php for $559.99. Any opinions? The one thing I am nervous about is the motherboard. What is meant by Systemboard? This computer will be used for home use, internet surfing, a little home business stuff. NO game...
