Why would you want an outdated copy of CPU-Z?? Google is your best bet. 1,600mhz is the speed all Core 2 Duo chips default to when Speedstep is active. C1E is an enhanced halt state for the processor, and is is a "deep" sleep state used to conserve power when underclocked. DMB2000uk had it right, si...

More Intel Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quad processors, ATI's DX10 graphics cards and more nVidia DX10 graphics cards... a few months later will be AMD's Barcelona quad-cores. If you will be using the same system for at minimum a year before revamping anything then yes I'd suggest switching to a X2 4800. ...

I'm not sure if you are still looking at RAM, but if so.... I have used both the Corsair 2x1gb 6400 and Corsair 2x1gb 6400c4 RAM. I never could confirm what chips they used, but I sort of figured it wasn't D9s. That said... Both of these kits boot and run 100% stable at 1.8v. I built a new rig back ...

Here is how the production version is going to look... http://theinq.com/images/articles/R600XTX.jpg The big R600XTX card codenamed Dragons head is the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and SIs (System Integretor) card only. The card should be launched in March and will be available at the same...

In Vista the screen you are viewing / Areo Glass is being rendered by your GPU. This is probably keeping your graphics card warmer than it usually idles at, hence why you are noticing it. In XP the entire interface was simply offloaded onto the CPU and the graphics card was left completely idle. I h...

I bought a Dell XPS gaming laptop when they had 40% coupons for them and other stackable discounts. It was great for awhile, but it's only shown me I need a desktop for my gaming and heavier workloads. I can't upgrade the Pentium M in it due to chipset constraints, and the only upgrade to the 6800 i...

I forgot about that "leak". Regardless of if you believe the results are faked or completely real... as far as I know ATI has not specificed the core clock speed on R600, and it's not listed in the given specs. With the latest A15 revision I've even read 1ghz was "possible", if only as a ultra pricy...

Wow. That thing is HUGE. The power connectors, I'm assuming thats what they're for, look a bit awkward with both being a different size. What kind of power does that beast of a video card pull? Don't go by the pre-production sample. The top three cards will use 2 6pin PCIe connectors, which ya can ...

If I may ask, what GPU did your laptop use? A 7300LE is darn close to the bottom of the totem pole of graphics cards, so your laptop might actually have a better one in it. With the RAM I would suggest checking to see if they give you the option to have 1 x 1GB of RAM, so you can buy a single 1gb st...

Cheap only if you already have everything but the CPU! Try a 2.2ghz socket939 Athlon64 for $56 shipped. The socket754 model is $3 less!

That's pretty impressive! I'd probably just end up lappng the IHS surface down a bit since it's safer, and still a good way to void the warranty too... :axe: I'm about to pick a fight with the adhesive thermal pads Gigabyte uses on their DS3 boards with their chipset heatsinks, so I wanted to ask ya...
