Re: Think Your CPU Cooler is Loud?

I can't believe that was a prototype Intel cooler... it sounds EXACTLY like a hairdryer, and probably works about as well as one too with a 3.6GHz Q6600. That 80mm Delta screamer sounded like a toy though, you really need to play with a 120mm Delta... The 152CFM models are scary to work with and wil...

Re: New hard drive

Well I went with speed. I ordered the 320 and an enclosure for the old drive. This gets me another 200gb in the lappy, with a nice 100gb of external space. Should have the stuff by the end of the week. Great! The 7200RPM drive will give you a nice performance boost, the system should be more respon...

Something that needs to be asked... what is your exact monitor? Model # is preferred... if it is LCD based then running it above 60Hz is your problem.

I suppose it could be the processor, but I still think it is unlikely. What brand/model PSU is this?

No chance you have a second motherboard or CPU to test with?

Re: Obama breaks promise on campaign finance

I gotta agree. I strongly believe it takes more experience to be a state governor than it does a US senator... What do you do in the senate? Take votes, half the time you're not even actually present for. With a governor you have to have good administrative skills and the ability to work with your s...

Re: A billion in perspective......

Nice post. :) Just heard on the news GM is burning through $1 Billion a month in cash now. And OPEC just cut oil production by 1.5 billion barrels... I have no doubt that GM isn't doing well. But I would really have to see someone analyze their books before agreeing. They're in the business of maki...

You can't create something that isn't there. G94 only comes with 64 shaders in it's entirety. Same story with the memory bus, you can't use something that isn't there.

Re: Get your 9600 GSO's while they're hot!

I dunno, this sure looks like one to me considering the memory size and width. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121255 Look at the specs: Stream Processors - 96 No... look at the memory. You don't have 512mb on a 192bit-wide interface. Newegg simply got the # of shaders wron...

Re: Power-On Delay

The CPU Fan spinning up when power is restored to the PSU sounds normal. It'll take a few seconds for the PSU to set and be ready for a powergood signal from the motherboard... if you flip on the power strip, wait a full 5 seconds before pressing the power button once and it should work fine? As DMB...

I don't know for sure, but I would guess that it still wouldn't work? The media industry forced Microsoft to change how WMP handled DVD media with XP, originally you could use PrintScreen on it just fine.

Re: SATA DVD-R/W?

Well, the Samsung's out of the running as it's not a dual layer burner. I read a bunch of the New Egg reviews of the Lite On. About 15 people report the drive just fails after 6months. Anyone here have a similar experience? I've bought two of these, drives work perfectly fine and one of 'em is two ...

Hey Apoptosis, any luck with this out of curiosity? Seriously, that's some weird stuff that Cyberlink are doing. Such a simple feature from what I understand and they pulled it out... :| They do it for the same reason you can't PrintScreen capture a regular DVD in most programs... DRM. The content i...

Bit of an old thread but I gotta agree, if I had the income to dispose of I'd be getting this sucker. Never used a gaming mouse, but finally had to cave and buy a gaming mouse pad to replace my old one and was pretty impressed. Which might make this good upgrade for my Microsoft mouse, so count me in please. Thanks! :)
