Re: No USB 3.0 Asus X58 Sabertooth

Thanks XstollieX , now I feel like an idiot! I'd been trying to update the driver by right clicking in device manger, directing it towards my flash drive and my Asus install disk and it couldn't find them. Downloaded this one and it couldn't find the driver either. But...I opened the file and tried ...

No USB 3.0 Asus X58 Sabertooth

Just got through with my new build, installed Windows 7 64bit and all the motherboard chipset drivers etc... but the USB 3.0 shows up with the yellow bang icon in device manager, can't seem to find a driver even on the Asus disk. Any ideas?

Re: Starting A New Build Today

Well it's all up and running, dabbled a little bit in the BIOS to get the RAM set up, no OC yet, just installing programs. The Intel SSD is pretty amazing on boot. Much faster, can't wait to try photoshop and other programs.

Re: Starting A New Build Today

At least you didn't buy a LGA 1156 board. You'd have bought a socket that is EOL in a month or so. Intel said that the LGA 1366 is still the preferred gaming platform. Agreed, I decided to break down and build a new rig after reading about the future of the 1366 socket, sounds like it will be aroun...

Re: Starting A New Build Today

Thanks, I tried to do a lot of research both with Legit Reviews and Maximum PC magazine. Only thing I'm not 100% on is the memory. It's not on the approved vendors list from Asus but comments on Newegg lead me to believe it should work just fine with a bit of additional headroom for OC'ing.

Starting A New Build Today

I'm on vacation this week so I'm going to start my new build. Bought everything using Black Friday deals, on sale or rebates, so it wasn't too painful. I'll be checking in after I get it up and running for some help with BIOS and OCing. Wish me luck! Here's what I've got so far: Asus X58 Sabertooth ...

Re: ASUS Sabertooth X58 Motherboard Performance Review

when i checked yesterday, the X58 Sabertooth was available on the egg for $150 openbox! Frys had three with open box today for that price as well. I'm not going to be able to build it for at least a month or so as I need to get all the components as I can afford them so I'm a bit leery of open box ...

Re: ASUS Sabertooth X58 Motherboard Performance Review

Sounds like I'm going to get this board. Picked up the i7 950 today on sale, planning on buying 1 - 2 things at a time as budget permits. I'll be posting in another forum shortly asking about RAM recommendations on this board.

Re: ASUS Sabertooth X58 Motherboard Performance Review

I've been reading more about this board and I'm thinking this might be a good start for my next build. Keep seeing the i7 950 for $199 at Micro Center, might just have to go get one.

Re: connect iPod to car stereo

We've tried the FM radio frequency adapters and there was just too much noise and poor sound quality. We used this in my wife's Nissan Murano: http://usaspec.com/ It's just OK. Works with the controls in the factory radio, but hard to use IMO. I swapped out the head unit for Alpine's w/iPod specific...

Spoke too soon, hit 85 yesterday. Always seems to get warm in early September when the kids are returning to school.

Re: Traveling ot Australia/New Zealand - Laptop Concerns

I googled this and found that New Zealand is 230v @ 50hz. The US cycles at 60hz so be sure the adapter addresses that issue as well.

Re: Windows 7 (64-Bit) unable to connect to wireless network

I don't know if this will work or not but I had a similar issue about a year ago. I went to Internet Options, Connections, LAN Settings and unchecked Automatically Detect Settings and was able to connect again.
