Re: Now I'm Mad...

Man that's rough. I've got a sister with a UC degree working a clerical job. I've got a daughter in a Cal State college right now and I can only hope by the time she graduates the economy has picked up to where she can get a good job.
Hang in there, something will come through.

Re: Thermaltake or Antec for i7 SLI ?

You can't go wrong with the HAF 922. I just built the new rig in my signature and I for one love the tooless case. One of the easiest builds of done in quite some time, nice quality case, great air flow.

Re: Sandy Bridge

I purchased one of the Intel 120gb X25 M SSD's last month and it's up in running in my new system and I'm very happy with it's performance. You won't regret buying one IMO.

Re: I can't believe it! Snow in Valencia, CA.

Yeah, figured the 5 fwy would be a mess. My daughter and her friend are going up the 5 to San Francisco tomorrow, wish there were waiting a day or two to travel but they're determined to go.

Re: iTunes Alternative?

I'm with you Major_A , I'm not sure what's going on this time but I think it's the newer version of iTunes 64bit on my new install. I've always used QT Alternative and like you removed or disabled all the junk I didn't want. This time around after two attempts to install iTunes and remove the junk, ...

Re: iTunes Alternative?

I just use iTunes to manage my iPods. Can't you use aTunes, Winamp, and MusicMatch? I haven't tried any of those yet but will look in to them. The problem I'm having is I don't like all the crap iTunes installs and in the past I've been able to remove QuickTime and install QT Alternative and then d...

iTunes Alternative?

I can't stand iTunes, it just installs too much crap on my PC (example: I prefer Quicktime Alternative vs Apple QT because I don't like being hounded to "go pro" and buy a copy, Bonjour, updater, etc...). Can anybody recommend at alternative program for getting music on to my iPod?

Re: No USB 3.0 Asus X58 Sabertooth

Thanks XstollieX , now I feel like an idiot! I'd been trying to update the driver by right clicking in device manger, directing it towards my flash drive and my Asus install disk and it couldn't find them. Downloaded this one and it couldn't find the driver either. But...I opened the file and tried ...

No USB 3.0 Asus X58 Sabertooth

Just got through with my new build, installed Windows 7 64bit and all the motherboard chipset drivers etc... but the USB 3.0 shows up with the yellow bang icon in device manager, can't seem to find a driver even on the Asus disk. Any ideas?

Re: Starting A New Build Today

Well it's all up and running, dabbled a little bit in the BIOS to get the RAM set up, no OC yet, just installing programs. The Intel SSD is pretty amazing on boot. Much faster, can't wait to try photoshop and other programs.

Re: Starting A New Build Today

At least you didn't buy a LGA 1156 board. You'd have bought a socket that is EOL in a month or so. Intel said that the LGA 1366 is still the preferred gaming platform. Agreed, I decided to break down and build a new rig after reading about the future of the 1366 socket, sounds like it will be aroun...
