Re: SSD's For Web Servers

really for web server/databases you'd only want to use SLC rather than MLC - well that's how the theory goes :)

I wonder what SUN are doing with tweaking their SSD offerings for mysql ??

why comapred to 10k SATA and not 15k SAS/SCSI ? :D

Re: Image Optimization

out of box maybe slower if you set passes from unlimited to 1 or 2 it's much faster but will try pngoptimizer too edit: pngoptimizer is definitely faster at expense of that little bit extra compression _test and _test_256 (256bit) PNG are originals http://img187.imageshack.us/img187/3527/testresults...

Re: Part 2: Which motherboard company is more efficient

excellent review =D> so at same 3ghz clock speed is 124w vs 123w - not much difference would be interesting to see 1. manually underclocked at 1.8ghz for both boards with same voltages what the idle and load system power draw would be 2. manufacturer's claims are only usually fully valid at the time...

Re: DFI Lanparty DK P45-T2RS7 Motherboard Pictures - Intel P45

sweet looking board indeed.. DFI really know how to design their boards but I've played with DFI UT P35-T2R and LT X38-T2R and max FSB a bit lower than on Asus P35 but from what I've seen P45 wolfdale FSB headroom is way better than P35/X38/X48 :) Haven't tried a P45 yet, but DFI LP UT X48-T3RS is k...

Re: Buy 9800GX2 or wait for GT200

I bought a 9800GX2 EVGA last week and only installed it last night LOL But it cost me AUD$560 while it retails in OZ at AUD$665-900 still depending on brand. Folks in the know told me to sell it quickly as GT200 series is a monster beast even compared to 9800GX2! So for you it would probably best to...

Re: Replacing the RST Pro2 with the RST Pro3 PCIe

sorry for bringing up an old thread but I have a few questions regarding RST Pro3 PCI-E if you can spare the time :) 1. regarding testing time, how long does the RST Pro3 take to test 2x2GB config versus 2x1GB versus 4x1GB ? same amount of time ? if time increases with memory densities ? 2. there's ...
