Yeah, CRT's are still the cheapest and they have the best picture of any available tech. The killer is their limited screen size and overall weigth/size. If I decide to make my bedroom TV and HD model I will definitely go with a CRT.

I think you can get lipo for less than that  Pretty cool though. At my gym they have spinning classes where you have a projection of a road etc so it looks like you are actually riding outdoors. I haven't tried it but I think I'd rather be outdoors. Now, if only it wasn't 20 degrees out and I a...

I have the 50" Samsung DLP (I forget the model HLN-502 or something) and I love it. They are especially cool if you plan on gaming on it (PS2, XBOX or you can hook your PC to it) as there is no worries about screen burn in. This is also helpful when watching TV in the 4:3 format - the bars can ...

I'm not sure plasma tv's will be around in the mainstream for that long with so many other technologies emerging and out there already. There are some inherent qualities that don't lend itself towards affordability and quality. Once they start to dim you are hosed. I much prefer the DLP format. Who ...

These are definately for those who need the bling factor in their rig. Nice review and kudos to Corsair for staying ahead of the pack in innovations although I'd personally rather see those come more in the realm of performance than fashionability.

The sad part is that I actually had an advance screening pass to see White Noise. I got there 1/2 hour early and they were "sold out" Apparently they gave away more passes then they had seats for - idiots. The consolation treat was free entry to see Darkness. I should sue them for cruel an...

Darkness

Whatever you do, stay away from this POS movie. I had a free pass to see it and I feel like I was ripped off. :x Be afraid of the darkness, be very afraid!

There are overclockers out there who only bump their systems up a notch or two ( thank god i dont know any) and for them the zalman is just fine, but if you want to get the most out of your chip and your money then i would look at the thermalright. So what's wrong with overclocking "a notch or...

Consumer Reports has tests of these (and I'm assuming it's where CNN got their data). I also found it amusing that Planned Parenthood's ranked last. I believe one of them ranked as "poor" in reliability. If you use them you'd better be doing a lot of this [-o<

Thanks, guys. I'll keep it in mind if the Zalman doesn't work out. Is there no fan on the Thermalright? From the pic on Newegg it looks like a heatsink radiator type? If it does a good job of cooling it would be preferable as there would be less power consumption and less wires - and we could all do...

I ran Half-Life 2 @ 1200 x 1600 with full AA, etc and the hottest it got was 50 (if the uguru display is to be believed). There's a lot of specualtion on how accurate the temp measures are. At least mine seem to be consistent, even after I flashed to BIOS 1.7. I forgot to mention I am using a Lian L...

As an update (I know you all care so much  ) I built my rig with hardly any issues at all. I was sweating it waiting for the components because after my order I read that the AV8 boards that have the pre 1.5 bios did not work with the Winchester CPU's. Also, the Antec power supplies sometim...

As an update, the board I received had the 1.5 version so I had no issues with the Winchester/BIOS conflict. I had some issues getting it to recognize the hard drives but that's another story. Also, no issues with the Antec (NeoPower) PSU either (there have been some Antec/AV8 issues). I decided to ...

I ordered it from Monarch Computers. I've never ordered from them before so I'm not sure if they would know or not. Sometimes smaller shops do the little things and other times they are understaffed so there's no time for it.
