The answer has already be given, but I've seen this question before and the simplest explanation is that the wheels are irrelevent - an airplane's wheels just spin (imagine wearing roller skates on a treadmill while holding on to the bar - you won't go anywhere, but the wheels will spin faster as yo...

Someone has already mentioned a text/code editor, but here's one I use - SciTE - Scintilla Text Editor Cost - I've been using it for free. More or less the same features as Notepad+ that was mentioned already (tabs etc.) Downside - If you are using it as a .txt editor, when you go to open the file a...

Unfortunately the fundage does not alllow for indiscriminate electronics purchasing. This stupid €700 laptop means I have to budget hard for the rest of the month... I guess its really not critical, I was just annoyed when I found out that I would be tied to a power point whilst geeking on my ches...

Vista Home Premium 32-bit. .Net 2.0 is installed as part of the OS. C:\Windows\ATK0100\Hcontrol.exe <- The file its looking for which doesn't exist (at least when I use the search I get no results, and the folder doesn't seem to be there either - unless its a hidden folder.) Edit - I found a hidden ...

Thanks - I've actually done all of those. This was something Ken suggested while we were at work, but I forgot what he said the program is. It's something like what I've seen the OCers using to fiddle with voltages, but for laptops/mobile pc's. With all the things you mentioned done I squeeze about ...

It's Vista Home Premium, it came pre-installed on the laptop (a bog standard job I bought last wkend because I had no computer at all at home) so I have no disk or anything. I only ran into it yesterday when I tried to install WinRAR for some .bz2 files I had (and Vista didn't recognise, though I do...

Battery life...
So Ken was telling me a couple of ways to try to extend the life of my laptop's battery (at the moment I get about 2 hours) but he referred to a bit of software I could download to adjust the power being used to it's minimum but I don't recall what it was called. Anyone have any thoughts/information...

I don't know 'bout Missouri, but in AZ (lived there for 13 years) they have some ungodly statistics about meth production. But baking soda? How'm I gonna make Irish soda bread if can't buy baking soda? I know it's used for crack production but seriously - if everyone banned everything that could pot...

I've heard this before - a guy at work installled Vista and his system gives him all sorts of warnings about drivers as he boots, but everything still works once he's in. Apparently nobody (almost) has come out with drivers yet that Vista likes... But, it will still run once you get past the warning...
