Re: PC problem

Have you tried a fresh installation of the operating system? Well, i have no clue, but since it had problems from the beginning i would send the pc back to the store and let them deal with it. Maybe something in hardware is faulty, like motherboard or psu. Did you buy the system preassembled? Have y...

Re: Pirates of the Caribbean Online Launched

Well, i have been playing it for a few days. It's mediocre and very buggish ( very , it looks more like a beta). The "free" part is very limited aswell. Only up to level 7 for each weapon, only 1 simple ship and few crippled quests. At least it would make it more interesting if you could still gain ...

Re: gparted 0.3.4-9 question

I dont know gparted. What i use and trust is Acronis! Download Hiren's boot cd, boot from it, load partitioning tools, select Acronis and do whatever you want. You can also use Partition magic, but i think it has problems in XP SP2/vista so you try it only from withing Hiren's boot cd (It boots dos ...

Re: got a minute? (putting vista on an xp machine)

Nice guide! Didn't know about the diskpart trick. Gosh why do they have to hide these stuff! Just a hint, since you were using linux too if i remember correctly, anything you add in the XP boot.ini will automatically show on vista's bootloader so you can boot straight from there! So if you add linux...

Re: nx9005 bottlenecks

1gig for sure! You will notice the difference from 192 right away. 192 is just too few. The harddisk will help alot too. 4200 disks are slooow. I saw very big improvement upgrading from 4200 to 5400 on a crappy p4 1.7 laptop, imagine what it will do to yours, especially if you can afford a 7200 one....

Re: DDR2 or DDR3?

+1 to ddr2 here too. You can get high performance-overclocking ddr2 very cheap (if you are careful choosing the right modules). Ddr3 is still very expensive and the timmings are very high, except for few modules that are more expensive than a a new pc alltogether :P:P
Doesnt worth it right now.

Overclocking Event in Athens

I found out a few days ago that there is an overclocking event organized by one of the biggest hardware retailers here. Here is the ad: http://www.plaisio.gr/PromoOverclockingEvent_en.aspx so it's kingpin, shamino and hipro5. I hope i can go and be able to take some pictures! If so i'll post them to...

Re: New system, need help to max value

Plus even with 100cores you wont see any difference in wow or in typical desktop usage. You spend alot of money for such things while ignoring something important performance wise. The hard drive. A faster hardrive does make big difference since hard drive is a common bottleneck for a system. Now 4k...

Sent a RMA request, hopefully they'll prompty replace it, I don't feel like screwing around... I like how they feature that crash free BIOS protection and recovery! Yeah the virtual dual bios doesnt always work. Thats how my old board got rma'd. If the bios update fails when the boot sector is eras...

Check the last pages of your manual. It has the beep codes.
Mine (p35-ds3) says continuous long beeps = Graphics card not inserted properly.

Re: D945GTP boot problems..

What i have noticed from a 965 and a p35 board (one with ami and one with award bios) is that you cant change the disk from the boot priority menu. There is another menu specifically for the harddrives. There you choose the order of the harddrives and the first one automatically appears on the boot ...
