Re: What Does 18TB of Hitachi Hard Drives Look Like?

Yeap, but because of package. While the first 9 came with the individual box depicted "thrown" inside a cardboard box with any supplemental packaging (touching the bottom of the box) in a 1200km trip not bad 7/9. The first RMA came even worst: disks inside their plastic bag, in the bottom of a cardb...

What Does 18TB of Hitachi Hard Drives Look Like?

As I mentioned in the 10TB post went for 2TB disks, hitachi looks to make some non raid disks many hardware raid power users like: HDS722020ALA330 The package from Hitachi, the best I've seen: http://img52.imageshack.us/img52/7172/mg6169.jpg http://img52.imageshack.us/img52/1679/mg6154.jpg http://im...

Re: Mobos without IGP

This posts intrigues me, I really don't get your point. How are you going to have the video card working if you didn't have any form of display.........*you dont need drivers for it to work*....I see :) you want IGP (you mean integrated graphics?) to install SO, and then plug a pci/agp/pci-e...

Re: ASUS Shows off 4-way SLI on GeForce GTX 480 or do they

I wonder how long the central cards will survive given the 4xx series heat efficiency.

I would like to see the numbers inside a PC case of thermal probes between every 2 cards. :snakeman:

Re: i5-661 integrated graphics + 2x pci-e(8x) raid cards in H57,

True, I finally got a reply on intel's forums. If 2pcie used (any kind) --> no integrated graphics.

Yes I'll go for a 3420, an asus, because supports i5-750. No HT, ok. But low power, 4 cores, and intel "cheap".

Re: i5-661 integrated graphics + 2x pci-e(8x) raid cards in H57,

I've read the manual and consulted intel documentation/forums, but only talks about pci-e graphic card installation. So it clearly says you can: - integrated: OFF - pci-e 16x GRAPHIC_0: ON or: - integrated: OFF - pci-e 8x GRAPHIC_0*: ON - pci-e 8x GRAPHIC_1*: ON *sli It is sure you cannot: - integra...

This is my final solution. And worked pretty good! CPU temps even dropped. 26ºC ambient: 39º idle (higher), 58º load. @4,1Ghz. You always have very low idle temps, in WC, I wonder how you do it! Of course GPU temperatures dropped ;). This is the first time I use the main radiator in horizontal posit...

Hi, I know I've opened another topic talking about this, but maybe after the review will have more impact and will be a better place for anyone else interested in that question. I would like to know if using core's i5-661 (or any other clarkdale) intregrated graphic, I can use the two pci-e slots 16...

i5-661 integrated graphics + 2x pci-e(8x) raid cards in H57,

Hello, I would like to know if using core's i5-661 (or any other clarkdale) intregrated graphic, I can use the two pci-e slots 16x (in 8x mode) of a H57 motherboard ( Asus P7H57D-V EVO) to run 2x 3ware (LSI) 9750SA-8I pci-e 8x RAID cards. Extensible to any other H57 motherboard. I've read many times...

Re: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480 GF100 DX11 Video Card Review

Quite disappointing, isnt it? I mean, after all that hype, hype, hype... ...a little bit faster than AMD cards. AMD stuff has been out for a good time, so they are able to lower the prices at any time, 3 display support, less power, the noise issue... Maybe we will have to wait until 495? I would li...

Re: HP TouchSmart 600 Quad Series

It depends on the use (programs/email-web-outlook-excel-word/games), who will use it (age/computer-knowledge), how often do you change your computer. The touch-screen is something you really need? At first sight looks expensive to me. For 1500$ you'll probably find a similar laptop, with the advanta...

Re: What Does 10TB of WD Hard Drives Look Like? Sexy Time!!!

Hi, I'm very interested in your final build, RAID (5 or 6? 6 right?)set, nas model, and expected workload. I'm about to acquire a similar size raid but I had bad experience with non RAID (AKKS, caviar, etc.) series of WD in RAID-5. I was going for an adaptec 3xxx series 12 port RAID controller and s...

Re: OCZ Vertex 2 SandForce 100GB SSD 1st Performance Benchmarks

I can't trust OCZ after the core v2 fiasco. If there is any problem they can abandon you saying "is sandforce who don't provide X or Y" [-X . Intel is working on the 25nm right? If OCZ just make a disk a little better than "old" X-25 G2, lets see what intel will bring in the "near" future. Also, the...

i7 920 and GTX295 in the same loop (Water Cooling)

I know is not a "good idea" but it is viable? I recently bought a cooper block for my dual pcb evga gtx 295, new at a very good price. And I was wondering if someone else has CPU-GPU-one-loop configuration. Or has had. Specs: Rampage II extreme (watercooled) i7 920 C (watercooled) (35º/68º) Pump: La...

I thought this kind of behaviours were what makes capitalism such a perfect and wonderful system. :owned: Why the average user would need 4 cores, high overclock possibilities, triple channel, if it wasn't for intel? Intel is just saving us to have a crappy AMD for reading the email, typing some wor...
