Re: Phanteks PH-TC14PE CPU Cooler Review
Thanks Bubba seeing as most third party coolers these days are aimed at the enthusiast as is most high end ram which generally doesn't come on stock green PCB's and have some rather large heat spreaders attached it's nice to see how it affects the use of these non standard dimms although I do wish t...

Re: Phanteks PH-TC14PE CPU Cooler Review
Just WOW I love the color scheme now if only the fans were just white with different colored LEDs instead great performance but hows it stack up against the D14 which is what I take this to be aiming at competing with and nice to finally see a shot showing dimms of the tall variety and dimm slot ove...

that's as maybe but SSE4.1 or 4.a for AMD has been around longer than V7 why it wasn't used is a mysteryTator Tot wrote:V7 was made before AMD's Bulldozer parts were out; so it doesn't have SSE 4.2 added in yet.

Re: AMD FX-8150 Processor Review - Bulldozer Arrives
F@H isn't using anything more than SSE2 had F@H been able to make use of SSE4 This is the problem with all software. They have to write it so older CPUs can work. The only software that tries to push the boundaries is a dediacted AAA PC game. Most other apps, not so much. that's why it surprising s...

you have noticed that F@H isn't using anything more than SSE2 had F@H been able to make use of SSE4 or above you'd see a huge improvement in PPD or so I assume or maybe it makes better use of OpenCL type calculations

mostly for us Kiwi's it's extra transport costs and retail rip offs

Re: AMD FX-8150 Processor Review - Bulldozer Arrives
FX8150 + 990FX mobo + DDR3 = shitload less than Intel platform How? From New Egg, 8150 $279.99, 2600k $315, 2500k $219 Amazon has the 8150 for $269.99, but then you could pick up a 2600k at a Microcenter for $279.99. New Egg seems to be the preferred choice so I'll use that for comparison. Cheapest...

Re: AMD FX-8150 Processor Review - Bulldozer Arrives
If this launched back when Intel launched the 2550k/2600k processors, the pricing would have been more competitive. Right now, I can't see a compelling reason to choose AMD over Intel. that all depends on what you plan on using your PC for considering whats in my sig I don't call myself a enthusias...

Re: AMD FX-8150 Processor Review - Bulldozer Arrives
Hmm... Were you guys reading the same review I just did? If you look closer the performance isn't much better than a Thuban X6. That's pretty disheartening considering it's running two more cores at a higher frequency. Maybe this can be tweaked with a BIOS update. Intel overall is still the more ex...

Re: What Web Browser is Fastest for Windows in 2011?
I wouldn't expect much of a difference between IE9 and Maxthon 3 as Maxthon is just a front end GUI for IE's files hence why it's so much smaller as an install.exe compaired to IE9 Opera 11.5 is great though and only getting better by the update can't wait for a x64 bit version for windows now that ...

I appreciate the input. I looked at the disconnected output(downloaded the ATI hdmi driver today) it's there and says not plugged in. The problem may be that I have a DVI to HDMI adator as a adaptor and cable in one. I have read that the adaptor and cable in one may not regognize sound. I am going ...
