Re: Folding at home, performance per watt

I don't know about you guys but the prices where I'm at are nowhere near that for a kwh. For winter (Oct. through May) I'm paying 5.62 cents per kWh for the first 750 kilowatthours and 3.78 cents per kWh for any usage over 750 kilowatthours. If you break it down, the first $45 is at the higher rate,...

Re: 600W - 700W PSU Recommendations

The 620HX was finally outdone by a pair of 4870x2's in CrossFire X along with a 3.2GHz quad and a water cooling kit. It will have no problem taking care of two 4870's and a dual core. OK, I'm going to call BS. I am using this PSU with a QX9650 @ 4Ghz, water cooling, a handful of fans, 3 HDD's, 9800...

The three brands I trust in no particular order: PCPower and Cooling / OCZ (PCP&C is now owned by OCZ) Corsair Antec (earthwatts line) The 620HX was finally outdone by a pair of 4870x2's in CrossFire X along with a 3.2GHz quad and a water cooling kit. Re: 600W - 700W PSU Recommendations

Corsair 620HX. The thing is a beast, I've read that a few people have run a complete system with dual core CPU, 4GB memory and 3 9800 GX2's folding 24/7 on it. I love mine, it's a big bad monster wrapped up in a standard sized PSU enclosure. It is also very quiet. Do it. Do it. edit: Looks like it's...

Ugh.....well it worked for one unit on each GPU. Back to getting nothing but 5801 again.

Oct.28 probelms with Nvidia GPU? Look here.

Project 5801 was rolled out today and is horribly unstable at any clock speed. :toimonster:
Supposedly they have been pulled so you should be able to get 5506's. Your clients are all likely paused 24 hours for exceeding EUE limit, just restart them and you will be good to go.

You have to disable Crossfire and treat them as two separate GPU's in the same system.

Re: Can't get new WU's

I fired my farm back up when I got home. The first machine up couldn't get one until I restarted the client a few times. The next three GPU's got WU's no problem. I ended up stealing a WU from my slowest GPU to give to the GTX 260 because it couldn't get one no matter what.....yet the one I stole it...

I guess this really makes a statement to just how many people pirate a game. The team is now on our threat list, pumping out nearly 400k points yesterday and on pace to about the same today. It looks as though they have lost 986 people (either through Stanford or owners realize something was running...

Re: Brief planned server outage on the 171.64.65.XX network

You aren't kidding...DaIceMan and I have had lots of trouble the last few days. I think at one point yesterday 4 of my GPU's had three work units to turn in all at once. Not too big of deal since they were still getting work. Sometime over night the work server was lost and they got nothing. Soooo.....

Anyone working in a data center or supporting a lab should look into this. This is a critical vulnerability and one that is going to cost companies a fair bit of money. I know the company I work for is scrambling to get this patched up in short order.

Re: Get your 9600 GSO's while they're hot!

See, that's the bad thing about this... we have no idea if that is an "original" or not. It doesn't look like it due to the memory specs but people on another forum think it's ok.
I guess the best advice is to stay away from anything other than 384MB or 768MB cards with 192-bit bus.

Re: Get your 9600 GSO's while they're hot!

Goofy, I need to check the cards that I got. I haven't OC'd them because I need a better cooling solution in the case that they're in. My combined points between my machines varies between 8k and 10k. I was expecting that to be a bit higher, but figured I'd need to tweak first. I'm assuming that I'...

Check that..... I'm hearing that a member of another forum may have gotten one or two of these in a recent purchase. Make sure you do your home work, the new one is putting out around 2500 ppd vs. 5000+ for the original 9600 GSO.

edit: Moving this to the Folding forum as it is the most relevant.

Looks like Nvidia is at it again with the product and name change guessing game. LR folding, end of the year goal

I just took a look at the stats on EOC and at our present output we should move up 11 spots by midnight on New Years eve. We are actually going to pass up 12 teams but we are going to lose a spot to another who is blowing by us at triple our production. Our goal is fairly simple, stay the course and...
