Re: new build

Nice stuff you chose, and since I figured you can spare a little bit more, it wont hurt to get the Kingston SSD V+ second generation drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820139113 It'll cost you 50 more but has at least double the speed. ( check out the direct comparison in th...

Re: OS & gaming preformance

I only now of Grand Theft Auto IV, which takes up more than 4 gigs while playing, it's sometimes at 5gig, so I upgraded to 8 gigs and it ran a lot smoother, but thats still the only game I noticed a change. Some games do have a 64 bit binary e.g. Crysis. I agree with Sttm, there's no reason not to g...

Re: WHICH ONE TO GO FOR???

I'd say get the quad, my brother just bought a X4 620 and that thing is perfect for gaming. The X4 630 costs just as much as the X2 555, at least here in germany (around 70-80€) :) . Of course there is the possibility of unlocking the extra cores on the X2, but it's just a possibility. In the end it...

Re: Need Help Overclocking AMD Phenom 9600

A friend of mine got his 9600 ( with unlocked multiplier) stable at 3 Ghz (multi set at x15) but with 1,55 V and it's running damned hot even with good aftermarket cooling idle at 50 degrees and load over 70.

Re: Windows problem restarts computer

Ok that worked, so I set the options to reboot the service on termination. I'll go to gaming now and will report back on the result of the changes.

Re: Windows problem restarts computer

Yeah I'm logged on as admin and I'm the only user on this machine. I can't change any settings of the DcomLaunch service, I even tried via comand line, but then I get ; [SC] OpenService FAILED 5: Access is denied.

Re: Windows problem restarts computer

Ok so I found out that I can change what Windows does on termination of these services, so I set Reboot the computer to Reboot the service for The Plug and Play service as well as the Power service, but I can't change the settings for the DCOM service. I tried running the service manager as admin, b...

Hey there guys, A little problem just surfaced here on my computer, it came up the first time yesterday while playing GTA IV. Re: PII X4 945.......

I've got the 940 BE as well, which is the AM2+ counterpart to the PII X4 945, bought it the first week it was released. I got a 790GX chipset board as well, but from Asrock. I've got that rig for gaming only and at resolutions of 1920*1080 there is no CPU limitation in any game except for HalfLife2 ...
