If you can't see anything happening I'd suggest you go over all the powercables again and see if everything is switched on.

Re: 4850, 4870, or 4850 Crossfire?
I just checked and set the resolution to 1280*1024 and everything else to very high without AA and AF. I just loaded a save on the beach, the first time it gets day in the game and ran around shooting stuff for 5 minutes and looked at my fraps count on my keyboard. Man I was surprised how good that ...

Re: question about the new gpu2 client
As I know it take a whole core of the cpu to power it, so if you got a dual core it should be 50 %. With mine it's even more aout 70% of each core. It still uses the cpu if the viewer isn't open.

Re: 4850, 4870, or 4850 Crossfire?
Your power supply should be enough for two 4850s and the two 6 pin power plugs are sufficient. What card/cards you choose depends on what you want to do with it. For me one 4850 is great enough, I can play all the games (exception : Crysis ) with the highest level of detail plus AA and AF maxed out ...

Re: Last motherboard for DDR PC3200 memory?
Yeah the last AMd Boad you can get is a socket 939, but that is not very upgradable, the bet to buy for that would be a 4000+ max. maybe you can find some dual cores but here in germany where I live the highest you can still buy is the 64 4000+ for a socket 939 board. I'm not so sure about the Intel...

Yeah . .. 've seen it just a few hours ago. might just be as good as the first two, but still got my doubts. for my part I'm still playing Diablo II :supz: , started like 6 years ago or so, now playing just occasionally but still playing a few times a month. If the third part is just as good I might...

Performance Question
hi guys, I just installed the GPU2 folding client now using my 4850 to fold. And I just wondered what exactly does the iter/sec mean or count? I' getting something about 650 average, sometimes going up to almost 1000. And the second question: how big is a normal WU and does the progress bar and the ...

Re: 4850 for my fiancee?
It works just fine on older boards, I didn't have any issues with it. I' ve got a Sapphire now and had a Sapphire with my last grafics card, never had any problems at all. and btw thw overclocking worked quite well with mine, got a bit more than 10% up on core(690Mhz) and 14 % on the memory(1133Mhz)...

yes they are, for multiplayer gaming with friends. unfortunately my projektor just burned its lamp, so there will be no gamin on the big screen( which really is fun) till i get a new one, but they are quite expensive

Re: well let's see
I'd say the same thing. I just bought myself a 4850 and the little extra money over the 8800 GT is worth it. My buddy's got the same config ecxept for graphics card and harddrives and even Crysis is running more smoothly on my 4850 than on his 8800 GT ;).DMB2000uk wrote:Skip the 8800GT and go for an 4850?
