Re: Dead cpu?

So as intel are in the process of refunding me my £409.98, I decided instead of a 9700k I would get 9600k as I only game at 60fps 1440p. Gpu would be a bottleneck long before cpu. I then used the remaining funds to get the below setup. as I was planning on getting a new pump and cpu block at some po...

Re: Dead cpu?

haven't any cash for conversion lol. Besides I prefer intel over amd. Had amd in the past and didn't have much luck with them :( anyway today I brought me a new pump that I have wanted for a while and have been saving up for until my 9700k died. Seeing as intel have thus far agreed to the refund I c...

Re: New Build?

I took a speaker to my local post office to be returned as they sent me 2 by mistake. Glad I got out as it's been nice weather over here. Also as a kind gesture they are going to refund me as most people would have kept it. So it pays to be kind to people :)

Re: New Build?

I guess that saves you some cash for now right? Also not a bad little setup even for its age. I even used my 2600k gtx 780 build until I got my 9100f for testing my mobo for that dead cpu. That old system still has some grunt left in her and hopefully so does that 7870k :)

Re: Dead cpu?

while the offering is fair for usa but in the uk they retail for £360+. I told them I would prefer a replacement as the refund is several £'s short of uk costs. They replied we have no stock and have no eta on the stock replenishment. that changed over night from You have a p0 revision so wont send...

Re: Gone Viral?

We have a similar pay scheme here in the uk but it's 80% of your wage up to £2500 monthly. This is only if your employer decides that covid-19 is forcing your work to become unneeded, then the employer will ask you to go home as your not needed (furloughed). Then tax is taken off the remaining 80% a...

Re: Dead cpu?

so intel have agreed after posting proof of cpu failure via video and pics they have honoured the rma. However, as I have a p0 revision and they only have r0 revision they wont send replacement and instead have said a refund of distribution price $375 (£300) is all they can refund. I said if that is...

Re: Dead cpu?

So I took everyone's advice a purchased the 9100f and I'm typing away with it right now. Tested it in a few games and it works perfectly. So the 9700k has died :(. Intel however have constantly said the cpu is clearly not supported by the asrock z390 phantom gaming 6. so I provided proof of the 9700...

I have since removed the gpu, ram, both m.2 drives and all peripherals. still getting the same issue. without a back...

Re: RTX 2070 High Temps

part of the reason I went with watercool is due to their support. they have, IMO, the best looking and performing blocks on the market. all I care about it performance and customer service. the only other company that has great support is corsair. asrock was very slow and ekwb was speedy but try to ...

Re: RTX 2070 High Temps

I had no idea either but when I contacted watercool in regards to this they said it shouldn't come loose and to check after another day or 2 and if the screws are still coming loose then they will issue a refund for the block. so 1 day in and no issues at all. maybe I didn't tighten them as much as ...

Re: RTX 2070 High Temps

i know my stuff and sometimes get into the nitty gritty. i mean i pulled the 4 pin fan header pins out so i could fit the gpu block to the gpu and it fit perfectly :) Anyway i found my problem. the issue, as pointed out by another builder like myself, was that i may need to tighten the screws on the...

Re: RTX 2070 High Temps

when I got the gigabyte windforce rtx 2070, I was informed that it is a reference pcb and that an rtx reference block would fit. When I purchased the Heatkiller IV rtx 2080 reference block I soon found out it didn't fit. it seems the rtx 2070 I had utilized the 2 4pin fan header at the top by the pc...
