Re: Post Your Rig!

DSL FTW! I wouldn't mind having a little faster internet connection but I'm too cheap to pay for it. I can't remember when I got the router. I guess it's been 3+ years now. Man the time flies these days....

Re: New Proccessor Decision

The E8400 is a great CPU for a mid-ranged gaming set-up. It should give your plenty of power for any of the games out there right now. Just make sure you pick up a decent graphics card as that will likely hold you back more in game than your CPU.

Re: My Valentines weekend....

I am sorry to hear about the dog. As I read the story I was expecting it to end with the dog eating the sugar glider.

I have done a little cable management since I took this picture but all the hardware is still the same.

I got a good laugh out of this when I first saw it. In a town with a college campus with 60,000 students you are bound to see some crazy stuff.

Re: A cardboard case for greener computer building

The pizza box case is more in line with what I envisioned when I opened the thread.

Re: New build

I am running a similar setup. Since the UP3D supports crossfire you might want to consider an ATI card since it would give you the option a second card in the future. 4830, 4850, and 4870 have all come down in price. I have seen 4870's for $175 with rebates. If that is too much you might want to con...

Re: A cardboard case for greener computer building

it's definately one of the better looking cardboard box cases. Isn't cardboard an insulator? Seems like the inside of your "case" would be an oven.

Re: Didnt Circuit City go bankrupt yet? - Yes, yes they did :p

I stopped by CC in Houston this weekend just to see if they had anything worth picking up. Their inventory is started to look a bit thin so I am guessing that store will be closing its doors pretty soon. I ended up with a cheap CD and some DVD-Rs and that was about it. Even with the 20%-30% off you ...

Re: TigerDirect.com Drops EVGA Products From Its Retail Site

I order most of my stuff from the Egg since the prices are usually a little bit better. I am still curious about the reasons for EVGA and TD going their seperate ways.

I love my Gigabyte board so I hope they hang in there. I am guessing MSI or ECS will be the first to go belly up.

Re: Building a new computer

The 690 is a great price. I would shop around a little and you will probably find it cheaper. I managed to get mine for $60 + shipping. As the others have said for the price you are paying for the motherboard, CPU, and RAM you might as well move up to i7.
