Re: i7 980x Extreme Edition, help with identification
I think that guy scammed you. The CPU cooler is the correct one for the i7-980X (or for any of the higher end Intel CPUs); I've bought a Celeron D in the past & they give you a basic, small aluminum block cooler with it. I don't think Intel will make a stupid mistake like that...giving you a Cel...

By the way skier, you've been gone for a while; what happened?! didn't really use the internet for a month or so and since I havn't had a single dollar or coin able to escape the grasp of my gas tank in months I havn't been very interested in computers, given I went from a 4GHz hex core to a ...

Looks pretty nice; love the rigid style
. The AMD Edition of the Thermaltake Armor A60 was not bad either.

Re: FAILURE
either he straight up lied, or he never even played games on it/stressed it. Searched for his review on the Phenom II 1100T a while back...did the same thing! I'm not sure if he's using the stock cooler or not, but wow. Looks like his 'Tech Level" is a lie, haha. By the way skier, you've been ...

Re: Is this possible? (unlocking cores on Phenom x4)
Just to rephrase what Velo:Sity said; The Phenom II Deneb CPUs only support up to four Cores, so your 955 already has all the cores available, so you can't unlock anymore. If you had a PhenomII or AthlonII dual-core/triple-core you could possibly unlock the missing cores. AMD sometimes have to disab...

Looking around NewEgg and their daily deals. Came across a Phenom II 965, and I saw this:
"Maxkillz" (might have to click on the image to enlarge to read it) No wonder why his CPU died 2 months in; gonna be the same for the poor PhenomII 1100T

Re: Official Codemasters DiRT 3 Thread
DiRT 3 is coming out soon, and I decided to pre-order it -you can get some unlocks with a pre-ordered version. Looked through a bunch of US and Canadian sites & I could not find any hard-copy versions; only Steam had the Digital copy. Went onto comdemasters forums and did some searching, and I f...

Re: cpu upgrade
PLEASE READ ... I was advised to reload win7, and did so. I then got a repair notice that was a continuing loop and was driving me batty. I have now found the reason YOU cannot reload a win 7 upgrade over a win7 upgrade How stupid is that? So I am reloading a full blown version of Vista and then Wi...

Re: cpu upgrade
you are running a CPU that isn't supported by the motherboard, so that's probably why, but... What is the model or your new and old processor exactly? Gving us the info "dual-core 1.6Ghz and dual-core 3.4GHz means" NOTHING. We need info like: - Pentium E5800 45nm 65W You may need to update...

Re: There's Something Wrong With Me...
Just couldn't resist on jumping on those deals eh? Ahaha I went out and bought a keyboard on the 2nd...and I was deciding between the G110, Lycosa, or the Steelseries Merc stealth. I ended up getting the G110; and I see you got the Lycosa :) . I would like to hear some feedback on your board...if yo...

Re: Buying a new computer, mobo upgrade worth it?
The newer 800 series motherboards are noticeable better than the older 700 series boards (better performance, newer features like SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0)...basically new and improved. It also supports the new CPUs (like the Phenom II 6-cores). VRAM (1GB of shared memory that you said) pretty much does n...

Re: Buying a new computer, mobo upgrade worth it?
If you are getting a graphcis card, the DVI and HDMI ports on the motherboard would be useless...as they become disabled and use the ports on the card. What's the graphis card your getting, and what is the price of the system with the options you've chosen & the base price? Also, what are all th...

Re: CF 5850 or wait?
Alrighty, got my two 5850's running with no problems; plugged it in and it works...unlike some unfortunate individuals. CCC (10.12 BTW) recognized them and enables crossfireX, I check with GPU-Z abd MSi Afteburner - check. Only problem: When I adjust ANY settings in Sapphire TriXX one of the card's ...

Re: CF 5850 or wait?
Hmm... so here's my situation: - My XFX 5850 has voltage adjustment - My Sapphire 5850 does not - XFX card needs a slight voltage bump to run 900/1200 stable - Sapphire card runs 900/1200 with stock voltage Is it possible to make them both run at 900/1200 in CF (without BIOS flashing)? I mean if I a...
