Re: CF 5850 or wait?

Well, I bought his Sapphire 5850 for $130. Unforuntely, it wasn't a Vapor-X 5850, but simply uses Sapphire's custom cooler.
I'll add it to my rig soon and see how well it does. :)

Re: CF 5850 or wait?

So...a friend of mine noticed I was looking for another 5850. He's willing to sell his Sapphire Vapor-X 5850 for $150.
Do you guys think it's worth $150 now? I was thinking ~$120..$125.

Should I take it for $150 or try to bring it down a bit?

Thanks!

Haha nice one!

Had me fooled for a long minute there. I'd be surprised if Gigabyte does make a board like this later on...for the extreme of the extremes.

Re: intel core i5 430m vs 450m for gaming

Between the i5 430M and 450M, there is basically NO difference. All the specifications are exactly the same, just the i5 450M having a higher multiplier..but ONE (18 vs 17). http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=43537 http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=49022 You'll have to look at the other specifi...

Re: AM3+ support on Corsshair IV Formula??

Seems that ASUS has released the news that the currnet 8XX series boards WILL support AM3+ via BIOS update!
A bunch of boards like the 880G, 870 and 760G will have new revisions that will support AM3+ CPUs also.

Re: AM3+ support on Corsshair IV Formula??

The Gigabyte GA-890FXA-UD5 rev 3.1 also has "AM3+" printed on the motherboard! No AM3+ BIOS though. http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3781#ov ASRock's 890FX Deluxe5 also has "AM3+" on the board. First BIOS from 2/21/2011, but no description. http://www.asrock...

I was on ASUS's website checking to see if there's any new BIOS for my Crosshair Mobo, and guess what I found?! formula_AM3+.png News about the MSi 890FXA-GD65 having the "AM3+ supported" writing near the CPU socket http://forums.legitreviews.com/about32895.html , and now this?! It seems t...

Keyboard/ mice suggestions?

Been looking to "upgrade" my keyboard and mice. My brother has now claimed my mouse+keyboard as his property, and the old man doesn't like me using the mouse from his PC (he is using a wired mice at the moment since I took it) and he uses the PC for watching movies & such on the TV. Ba...

Re: CF 5850 or wait?

I'm thinking about doing a triple or dual display setup, and experience some EyeFinity action.
I have two large 1080p HDTVs, a 1920x1080 monitor, and one that's 1680x1050....and some random small 15" monitors lying around; I'll see what I can whip up from those.

CF 5850 or wait?

With the Radeon HD 5000 series slowy phasing out and the price of them dropping slowly, I was wondering if I should grab another 5850 to make a CrossFire setup. As I was thinking about this, the not-so-good scale of the 5000 series and the awsome scaling performance of the HD 6000 series came into m...

Current 890FX Mobo supports socket AM3+ ?!

I was browsing around the web on any information about socket AM3+ and I stumbled across a thread discussion. People stated that a MSi motherboard -the MSi MSI 890FXA-GD65 to be exact- supports the new AM3+ CPUs. Of course, it will not be using the new SB and NB chips found on the 9xx motherboards. ...

Re: Crysis 2 PC multiplayer Demo now Available

Yeah, I agree with stereo55...multiplayer gets repetitive. Maybe I haven't played it enough yet to unlock & use all the features.
I must say though, the graphics are pretty good!

Hope the campaign will be better - if the campaign is going to be like the multiplayer.. :(

Re: Thinking of getting the 5770

Frome the specs, your should be fine running a Radeon HD 5770. You should definitely thing about replacing the PSU, as the quality of that brand and age of it isn't good. A decent 400W-500W power supply isn't going to cost you a massive amount of cash; most go for $40-$60. Oh, and about the extra po...

- Sapphire Toxic HD 6870 is 9" (custom PCB one) I'm not sure, but all of Sapphire's custom 6870's look like the same size...http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... -_-Product

Re: Sapphire TriXX + XFX 5850 = voltage tweak??

I took my chances and tried to see if the over-volting works or not. Set it to 1.2v, 880MHz Core, 1200MHz memory. Ran 3DMark11. Usually anything past 850MHz on the core would cause 3DMark11 to create artifacts & crash on the last test, resulting in my system to reboot. By adjusting the voltage t...
