Re: DDR2 Speed

Yes, you are guaranteed to be able to run at max frequency that is stated in both motherboard and RAM specifications. It is also worth looking at newest BIOS updates, since they sometimes unlock a few more MHz.

No you can't because all cores that are physically present on your CPU are already unlocked.

That's a shame. Hoped I'd have time to play it, but now they made it impossible.

I think my Acer also came with three. Immediate clean install took care of that. :)

Surprised Intel didn't push for earlier certification if they knew memory was such a bottleneck.

Re: XP to Win7

And don't forget to copy personal files you will need to another drive like flash. When installing you will probably want to format the drive, which erases all the data.

Rule of thumb for me is if I want to run one instance of application faster, I update CPU or GPU; if I want to run multiple instances of applications like many browser tabs more comfortably, I add RAM.

I ran both Vista and 7 32-bit versions with 2GB- no problem. What problems with Vista did you exactly encounter?

Re: dual channel

I have been running one 1x2GB in one channel and 2x1GB in second channel for a while now and haven't noticed any problems. I even thought about making it 2+1GB in both channels, but decided I will change platform as my next upgrade.

Re: SanDisk Sansa Fuze+ 8GB MP3 Player Review

I have actually owned a 8GB e280 for three years now. It does its job very well, battery still holds charge. Only wish it supported HC memory card. It also froze and didn't save the recording one time I wanted to record a gig with it, so I don't know if this feature really works. :-k
