new full size atx board

Is it true that micro atx gives poorer performance because the components are cramped together and they xperience interference.

Or does this have no effect in real life situations.

Thank you. John.

Re: best processor for gaming?

Also don't forget, the pc is only as fast as its weakest link/slowest link which is the hdd. Most people make the mistake of buying the fastest ram, fastest processor, etc, but it is the hdd which can have the slowest data transfer rate. My system increased in speed when i switched to a western digi...

Cpu identification

Hi. Can anyone tell me how to spot a fake cpu. They are doing the rounds on ebay and a few other sites at very low prices. I know that some hard drive manufacturers let you check the serial number and can tell you how much is left on the warranty so some sort of checking is available, i was wonderin...

Re: best processor for gaming?

I wouldn't say it kills it, you always have to look a the price. It is unfair to compare two diferent cpus with a very different price. Go for the i7 920, it has very good overclocking potential, but do remember 4 cores are not necessarily better than 2, most programs do not access all 4 cores. In f...

Re: MB and Processor Help!

The processor will work in any am2+ or am3 board. Your board is am2+ but will support the proccessor. You will not see any difference switching to an am3 only board.

Not sure what you are after, speed, budget computing, quality etc. Your communication does not give too much away

Re: friend needs help

Hi Guys. Will switching to a full size atx board improve things, i did hear that micro atx boards can cause interference as the components are cramped together, or is this something minor. I nipped down to the local pc shop and the guy was talking about irq or something like that, or was it dma. It ...

Re: friend needs help

Hi. Thanks guys for the email responses and the information contained. It is very much appreciated. Is it AMD that's the problem? I've installed all the drivers from the Gigabyte AMD installation cd, and gone into device manager, no yellow question marks, also updated from the gigabyte website. Stil...

Hi. I have a AMD gigabyte ga-ma78gm-s2h mobo (£70) socket am2+, and an Intel abit in9 32x max (£150) socket lga775, My pc is used for home theatre. Installing a xonar dx2 soundcard (£100) it sounded way better in the abit mobo (intel) rather than the gigabyte (AMD). The same was true of soundblaster...
