Re: voltage/temps
thanks guys. Currently i have the stock HS/F, but i am trying to get a noctua cooler (the low profile one with 140 mm circular fan, the name escapes me right now). so that will be a big improvement, and would the NZXT Sentry 2 be a good choice?

my 955BE is set to have CNQ enabled, yet it defaults to 1.3V and 3.2Ghz on start up. The thing idles around 52C, and i want to increase the fan speed, but not voltage. In EPU4 (I have an M4A79XTD EVO) the High Performance setting does get the fan speed up, but it also increases voltage. SpeedFan doe...

Re: temperature software
I have an ASUS M4A79XTD-EVO, i use an OCZ ModXStream 500w. the fan is spinning, and i noticed that EPU-4 controls voltage as well, so whenever its in High Performance, Vcore goes up to 1.3V, and temps follow up to ~62-65C.

i have serious doubts about amd's overdrive software..i was doing some light browsing, and the temps were great, around 32.5C, but when i go to a full-screen 3d application, (Runescape, for example) it shoots up to 66C, as soon as the page loads. do CPUs really have this much of a problem with tempe...

which client do you use? the one i downloaded is for "normal" PCs, since the "high performance" client didn't work.

Re: Manufacturer of choice?
for HDD, i'd go with WD all the way, no questions asked. they've given me the best performance and still work about 4 years later.

which company would you buy from? for me, CPU- AMD Motherboard- ASUS (ASRock, spun off from ASUS) RAM- OCZ, Corsair GPU- Sapphire PSU- It's gotta be modular, from a respected/trusted manufacturer with enough power. Case- NZXT Cooling- CM? Retail seems to be working fine. Should i snag an H50 for a p...

the AMD Black Edition RAM from OCZ is killer, i have the 16oomhz installed in my system, and it is just amazingly fast. download AMD Overdrive for the memory profiles for a pre-set overclock, so to speak. http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_overdrive.aspx though i am not so sure 800-series chipsets ar...

Re: Radioactive Semi Load on Interstate 70 in St. Louis
maybe we could fly a whole ship full of it towards the Sun or something. If crashing a millions-dollar probe into the moon is worthwhile, i'm sure most people would think getting rid of a spaceship full of nuclear waste is too..

i heard they could recycle nuclear waste and use it again as a second, different kind of fuel. that way there is less waste and we save the environment/money.

would it be better to buy two vapor-x 57xx and crossfire them, or buy a single 5850? the 5750s have reasonable performance, and it would be cheaper and more cost-effective to buy two "worse" cards and let them work together, right? oh, and i'm not going to upgrade anytime soon, just trying to plan o...

Re: My new rig(first build)
the power supply you currently have listed isn't modular, which means that all the cables are hard-wired to the PSU. modular power supplies like this one ( http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139011 ) cost a little more, but the space and time you save from using only cables you ...
